1967 FORD CORTINA LOTUS EARLY MK 2 SERIES 1

LOTUS CORTINA MK 2 EARLY SERIES 1 1967

JUST FINISHED RESTORATION.   THE CAR HAS HAD THE FOLLOWING WORKS: 

Underside and engine bay was blasted. zinc primered. stone guarded then painted Ermine White.

New panels as follows:

Front valance. headlamp surrounds x 2. strut top x 2. strut reinforcements x 2. underwing towers x 2. uprights to strut tops x 2. A posts x 2. drivers floor pan. outer sills. outriggers x 2. rear wheel arches x 2. lower rear quarters x 2. wheel well x 1. tool tray x 1. battery tray x 1.

Engine

New parts as follows:

Accralite pistons and rings. commentic head gasket. ARP bolts for head. crank reground and fitted with Mahle race bearings. all other gasket and seals replaced with new. new HP oil pump. new distributor with electronic ignition. new coil and HT leads. all new hoses on cooling system. new timing chain. new crank drive gear. new chain tensioner gear drive. 711 block front cover conversion to fit Lotus head to 1600 block. new webbers. new throttle linkage. new exhaust and mounting rubbers. good use 4 branch exhaust manifold. new alternator plus belt. new high torque starter motor. new fuel pump and filter pressure regulator. heavy duty clutch. new braided steel clutch hose. new engine mountings.

The engine has been set up on the rolling road at Motor Scope. Northallerton. made good power 130 bhp at 5000 rpm. should make around 140 at 6300. runs very smooth. very responsive.   I've put 100 miles on the car just to run it in. Performs very well and sounds great.

Brakes 

All brakes stripped and cleaned. 3 new hoses. all new nickel pipes. new servo. new servo non return valve. new master cylinder seals. new handbrake cable.

Gearbox

The gearbox has been stripped and reconditioned. very smooth.   New bearings. gaskets. seals. layshaft and bearings and syncros. new oil.

Minilight wheels 6 x 13

New fuel line

New lotus badges and twin cam badge

New heavy duty battery and terminal clamps

2 inch rear lowering blocks

New speedo cable

Interior

All trim parts are new and from Aldridge Trim.

New head lining. front seats retrimmed with new covers. rear seats retrimmed with new covers. dash top retrimmed. looks great. new parcel shelf. new boot divider. new boot carpet. new wheel cover. new gear knob. quality new carpet. new underdash shelf. front inner kickpanels new.

The following seals have been replaced: East Kent Trim

New windscreen rubber front. new windscreen rubber rear. new side quarter rubbers. door seals both sides. door channeling both sides. inside door window seals both sides and outside. boot seal new. steering wheel retrimmed with leather. door aperture velvet trims x 2. 4 new seat belts.

Car also has new headlights.
