Peugeot 304 convertible 1972 (hard

     Up for auction is a 1972 Peugeot 304 convertible. As you can see from the pictures. it has both hard and soft tops. This car has not been used a lot in the past 10 years or so. Originally it was gold in colour. but was repainted just over ten years ago. It was then stored. but moved around a lot up until last year. when it finally saw the light of day. It was mot'd and then put away again. until just recently. My friend who owns it. runs his own business and finds very little time to make use of his Peugeot and VW camper van (see other listing). So. regrettably has decided to sell both of them.   This Peugeot 304 is in very good condition and runs as sweet as a nut. but because it has been pushed from pillar to post over the last ten years. it does have a few minor rust bubbles. scratches. chips and dinks. In my opinion. it could do with a blow over. There is no rot. so it wouldn't be as time consuming as some re-sprays are. The interior is very good apart from a couple of edges of the vinyl could do with gluing back into place and there is a small rip by the drivers seat adjuster and a small break in the piping. The chrome work is in good condition for 41 years old. some slight pitting here and there. All 5 tyres are very good as are the chrome hub caps. but the wheels could do with a sand blast and re-paint. This is front wheel drive and has a 1300cc engine and is road tax free. so very cheap motoring for a second car.   The soft top convertible roof is in very good condition and just has a couple of press studs missing. and a small gap each side by the top of the doors. but then it is 41 years old and its not the sort of car you are going to drive in the pouring rain. The plastic back window is also very good and has perfect visibility not like some you get where they are cloudy. The hard top is in very good condition and just has a couple of tares in the roof lining. On the whole it looks great with the hard top. the soft top and even with the roof down. The tonau cover is there too. which also is in good condition and just has a couple of press studs missing. At present there is no mot. it ran out in july. But a new mot will be given before the buyer collects. This car is well worth viewing. but because Cornwall is at the end of the world I do have plenty more pictures. or can take specific ones at your request if it is to far to travel. I have been informed by my friend who owns the car. that there is a pair of head rests for the front seats. but they will need re-covering.
