It was first registered on 1 June 1937 with the first Road Tax being paid on the 16 June 1937. The original Buff Registration Book is present including all the Petrol Vouchers during the War. Further  the original Continuation Buff Registration Book that takes the Car through to 30/6/64 (last date of Road Tax being shown) is also present. Finally we know oher owners more recently with some photos. Between all of that I think we virtually know the entire History of the Car.

Rolls Royce 25/30 cars were built from 1936 to 1938 as an updated version of the 20/25 with larger engine to provide more power. The in-line 6-cylinder overhead valve engine is similar to that used in the 20/25 but increased in capacity to 4257cc. The chassis and mechanical parts were made by Rolls Royce; the body was made and fitted by coachbuilder H J Mulliner & Co. The car was originally commissioned by Sir August Cayzer, Bart. at a cost of £1,596.

Sir August Cayzer was the third son of Sir Charles Cayzer, 1st Baronet head of the ship owners Cayzer, Irvine & Co. He lived at Roffey Park, Sussex and joined the Royal Navy as a Naval Cadet in HMS Britannia and served until 1902. On leaving the Royal Navy, he joined the family firm, later becoming chairman. He was also a director of the Suez Canal Company. When he passed away in 1943, ownership passed to his son, Sir Nicholas Bart. Other owners are known with some interesting photos prior to restoration.

The seller has owned the car since 2012, over which time it has always been garaged and regularly serviced. It is a part of a Collection of over 20 Cars which I am downsizing. This Car is currently owned jointly by myself and a friend who now lives in Yorshire (another reason for the sale)

The car has been the subject of a comprehensive but sensitive restoration prior to our ownership. The interior materials are largely original which retains an authentic patina (although roof lining and carpets are new). The Front Drivers Seat and Both Rear seat squabs have new Leather covers, however all of the rest of the Leather has age. Some parts are clearly original. The Front seats have recently been sensitively "connolised" to protect and improve the general appearance.

Being a Limousine, the Car has a wind down Glass Divider between Front and Back Seats. In the Rear Compartment, there are seat tables and a fold away foot rest as well as an original arm rest.

The Car has four nearly new Tyres and all original special RR tools.  There are also tools in the tool trays and new spare parts for routine maintenance (most of the small tools are probably not correct for the Car).

The exterior and all the mechanical parts are fully restored and in excellent working condition. Mechanically the Car is Excellent with the Engine running beautifully (During the Restoration, prior to our ownership, the Engine was overhauled by RR Specialist Fiennes). I have personally driven the Car from Sussex to North Yorkshire and the Car did not miss a beat.

Some small improvements have been made, with Indicator lamps (LED) in the standard sidelight pods at the front and auxilliary indicator/brake lights at the back. They are controlled by a switch on the dash (not self cancelling) with an audible reminder. The original "Semaphore" indicators are still in place and fully functional with new lenses.

In terms of issues, the Car will soon require a new Exhaust (not manifold). In addition the automatic Radiator Grille opening system has been disconnected as it did not function correctly (this does not cause any issues in our experience). Finally, whilst there are locks in all appropriate locations, I dont have the appropriate keys (the ignition key has been electrically bypassed). I believe that this can all be corrected but I have not seen the need. There are also a few minor paint blemishes.

As well as the Car, the following are included in the sale:
