1978 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class R107 EURO

For SALE is this very rare 1978 Mercedes-Benz 280SL EURO Model Roadster with its elegant color combination champagne metallic on tobacco interior! 

A nice original example which is mechanically sound with partially redone interior with GERMAN HIGH QUALITY materials! NEW driver seat but passenger seat is still original, NEW carpet, NEW soft top, original dash with no cracks, hard top, the original jack stand and original spear wheel! 

This SL is powered by the extremely durable in-line 6 cylinder electronic Bosch fuel injected engine paired with a automatic transmission, air conditioning, very desirable original Mercedes-Benz small EURO bumpers, rare option of rear jump seats, power windows and power steering. Recently serviced with Oil change. Breaks incl. new calipers and sway bar links were replaced. The tobacco interior is very soft with no rips or cracks that feels and looks like new. The middle console wood trim has few little carks but it's still original and looks great! The body of the vehicle is pretty straight! The exterior paint has been repainted over the years at least 2 times and shows well. It has little imperfections, color differences due repaint and small scratches! The hardtop is included and appears to be besides some paint imperfections in good condition. All the chrome on the car is in excellent representable condition! Even though the odometer reads now 174K miles which is believed to be original, however, the engine accelerates very strong, doesn't leak and runs effortlessly. A compression test with good results has been preformed and can be presented on request. The automatic transmission shifts smooth as it supposed to. There are no issues with the wiring harness or head gasket! The automatic blower works with all the different adjustable options except the A/C. The compressor needs to be rebuilt but since the car is driven mostly open the A/C was not desired. Everything on the instrument cluster incl. all lights work! Also all other lights on the car work flawlessly incl. the original Radio. The overall exterior & interior condition only confirms that this Benz was cared for and kept up to date. This Mercedes-Benz is absolutely a daily driver and can be enjoyed immediately!

The R107 series constructed by German engineering was the longest production line ever built by Mercedes Benz and this particular 280SL was built in a very low production number that is very rare and desirable today! I recommend  to look at the car and/ or to ask all desired questions BEFORE bidding! No smog for California possible!
