1973 Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia TC  VIN# BM012950

I am looking to sell my 1973 Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia TC. Very Rare Model. Quite certain this is the only one available in the current US Market.

The 1973 Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia TC  comes with a Factory 1600cc Duo Carb Air Cooled Engine with FWD 4 speed.

I Imported this car to the US from Brazil with the intention to customize it but I have changed my mind. I decided to finish other projects that I've had pending and would rather leave this one to someone who has the time to customize or fully restore to its “original” condition…. Or keep as is.

The drivetrain, brakes and suspension are really good.

The interior is all original and complete. Very nice upholstery. The factory steering wheel needs a little repair ( see picture ).

There's no broke glass.

There an original factory set of  taillights. Not perfect but can be restored….

I removed the bumpers to do a plating chrome service. I will include in the auction. If you want to put it back on.

This is definitely not a museum car. The body needs some rust repairs and a new paint job to make it a show car. But if you want it to be just a “regular” car, You can leave it as. Still a cool car, as is, regardless.

I lowered the suspension and put a brand new set of Germany Style 15” wheels.

It's a really nice drivable car. It runs really good for the age.

If you want an Exclusive Air Cooled, this is your chance to own one.

Sold as is.

The other cars on the background of the pictures are not included in this auction.

Info:

As an alternative to the Type 34 Karmann-Ghia coupé, whichVolkswagen had introduced to Europe in 1961, Volkswagen do Brasil lookedto Ghia in Turin for a reworked version ofthe Type 14 at the end of the 1960s. At the time Ghia employed Giorgetto Giugiaro, the famous Italian designer and he was set to work on the new Brazilian KarmannGhia. The result was the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia TC (TouringCoupé), internally known as the Type 145, which began production in 1972 andwas produced until 1975.[22]

This was a roomy 2+2 coupe with a modern and comfortableinterior. Underneath, it was similar to the Type 14, although the platform ofthe Volkswagen Variant wasused rather than that of the Volkswagen Beetle. The main difference was theengine: the Type 145 TC was fitted with the 1,584 cc flat-four air-cooledboxer unit from the Type 3 instead of the 1,192 cc unitof the Type 14.[23] The car produced 65 hp (48 kW) at 4,600 rpm andhad a top speed of 86 mph (138 km/h), compared to the 34 hp(25 kW) and 72 mph (116 km/h) top speed of the Type 14 KarmannGhia.

18,119 TC models were produced during its production run from1972 until 1975. It was offered only in South America and was not exported offthe continent. There is a prototype that is part of the factory museumcollection of Karmann in Osnabrück,Germany.
