This is a wonderfully kept Mercedes-Benz SSK 1929 replica car built in the Seventies by the Fiberfab company and equipped with a reliable and strong Ford Pinto Motor with automatic transmission. It only has 6116 miles from which a 1000 were driven the last 4 years.A handful of these genuine 1920s Mercedes-Benz SSKs left on this planet are in museums or belong to millionaires, but this 1929 SSK Fiberfab replica produced in the seventies is much more affordable. Fiberfab was an American automotive manufacturer established in 1964. Starting with accessories and body parts, they progressed to making kit cars and fully assembled automobiles. They became one of the longest lasting kit car manufacturers. The original Mercedes SSK was built in Stuttgart, Germany between 1928 and 1932 and its full name was "Super Sport Kurz" or "Super Sport Short". Its excellent performance led it to become one of the best competitive sports cars of its era. The last car designed by Ferdinand Porsche before he went on to form his own company, the SSK was the fastest car of its day. With a massive 7 liter inline-6 supercharged engine, it had a top speed of 120 miles an hour. Fewer than 40 were built and many were raced and crashed. It's estimated that only four or five complete originals still exist. This SSK replica is titled as a 1929 Assembled custom built. It features a powerful and reliable 2.3l Ford 4 cylinder pinto motor with automatic transmission. Driving on highway is no problem, the car reaches 80mph easily. Highlights include AM/FM/CD player, rear mounted spare, and 14 inch wheels. The car starts without problems and handles very well. The Gazelle is well kept, garaged year round and attended to both on the inside and outside. I additionally installed yellow fog lights. Manual horn and electric horn inside is installed. It will come with convertible canvass on top and to the sides for rainy days. She is ready for a new owner who treats her with love and affection. This SSK is registered in New York state and passed inspection without difficulty. Ownership is clean.I purchased this vehicle from a lady in Ohio whose husband passed several years ago. Now I'm getting a bit too heavy for riding it and my kids prefer to ride the subway in New York City ;-)
