1970 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Baywindow Bus

Friday, January 30th, 1970 production Bay Window Deluxe Bus, Neptune Blue/White and black interior; with 107,124 documented miles. Factory options as follows:

102 Rear window defogger, 206 Inner rear view mirror, anti dazzle, 507 Vent wings in cab doors, 508 Vent wing in passenger compartment, opposite sliding door, 521 With additional chrome belt trim and rain chrome deflectors, 524 Sealed beam headlamps, dual brake control, D25 options as follows: 020 Speedometer and odometer in miles, 089 Laminated windscreen. All original and complete besides rear bench seat. New 1600 cc dual port engine installed June 1998 ($2,273.48 documented); new ignition coil plus wires, new carb, new battery.

Fires right up, runs and drives great. No leaks or knocks or noises of any kind; shifts smoothly (transmission replaced in 1991) through all the gears and clutch grabs perfectly fine. Huge binder with every single repair, service and new parts since mid 80's to present with over $ 17,763.00 spent.

New tires, new chrome deluxe bumpers with new hardware, new hubcaps, new door handles including side door, new ignition lock, two new sets of keys. Amateur body work and paint years ago, body panels are ok and floors had been patched. Rust to be addressed at front and cargo floor, main longitudinal rails are fine, support corner rails they need replacement ($35 each) or repaired, suspension mounting points and engine bay are intact, minimal rust spots at bottom of some windows. Rear back passenger side window needs replacement. Roof is intact and drain channels are very nice. Really easy to sort out as you still enjoying it; everything is available and parts are very cheap. There's a brake fluid leak at reservoir filling tube that I'm trying to sort out, there's no brake pedal feedback. Drums are not stuck, rolls freely and handbrake is functional. Cargo side door is operational but it needs adjustment. Windshield has chips but it's the original from factory. Lights work and dash lights and gauges are operational; blower does not work. Good bus with great potential to make it affordably near perfect. Bus is offered at a reasonable low reserve; to address the aforementioned items. I have also a 1988 T3 Tin Top that with the family we decided to keep and I can't justify to own both. Comes with original hubcaps and spare new headlights.
