Here we have a 1964 Mk1 Triumph Spitfire that has been fitted with a 2 Litre straight 6 engine and overdrive gearbox from a Triumph 2000.

The engine consists of a low mileage bottom end that has a reconditioned cylinder head.

My plan was to build the car as a hillclimb/sprint car but unfortunately a change of circumstances means this is no longer possible.

Many thousands have been spent in the process of preparing it for competition use, most parts have been purchased from Jigsaw Triumph specialists.

The main modifications are as follows:

AVO adjustable suspension on the front and adjustable spax units on the rear

Spitfire 1500 swing spring conversion with lowering plate between the spring and the diff

Uprated anti-roll bar

Red polybushes have been fitted throughout

MGB V8 front brake calipers

Stainless steel tubular exhaust manifold and twin pipe exhaust system - sounds awesome!

Twin HS6 SU carburettors from a Dolomite Sprint

Mk1 GT6 steel bonnet with additional bulge to clear the carbs

Fibreglass bootlid
Competition roll bar fitted behind the seats

Mountney steering wheel

Dolomite sprint ally wheels with new Yokohama tyres

The replacement fuel tank was stripped and lined with an ethanol proof coating

New Accuspark electronic distributor and coil

Mini Cooper bucket seats

Facet electric fuel pump

Electric cooling fan

K&N Air filters

The bodywork has plenty of patina but could really do with a respray to make it show worthy.

The original chromed steel bumpers are present should you wish to put it back to standard.

I have not yet thoroughly road tested and have only covered a handful of miles locally.

The next items on my to do list were to fit a gearbox tunnel and setup the adjustable suspension and steering.

Happy Bidding and good luck
