Super-original 1955 Ford F-100 half-ton panel truck with the correct original 239 cid Y block V8 (Ford's first overhead valve V8) and 3-speed manual shift on the column.   Clear Washington title. keys in the ignition work.   Motor starts easily and runs strong. but smokes.   This truck is very straight. has minimal rust. nbsp;and is completely unmolested. which is very rare for a panel truck.   It was never owned by bikers. surfers. hippies. or morons. so there are none of the typical idiotic modifications like extra windows. vents. or chimneys (yeah. you know what I'm talkin' about!).   This truck was originally dark blue. but at some stage was repainted in that terrible sea foam green that was popular for a while back in the day.   Then the emblems were pulled off (they are included) and it was resprayed in grey primer. which surface rust is now showing through.   This truck sat out for some time. but has also been shedded for many years.   Here in the dry sagebrush desert of southeast Washington state. rust has a hard time getting a foothold. so while this truck does have rust in the usual spots. it's minimal.   Driver's floor pan has pinholes and is weak; front cab corners rusted through; slight rust-through over rear wheel arches.   The rest of it is solid and very straight. with no sign of Bondo.

Last licensed in 1985.   The truck has been local to this area since at least then.   I got it from a used car dealer who was saving it for a rainy day project but then lost interest.   The seats. front bumper. and running boards are missing.   The driver's door has a mangled frame on the back edge. but a complete spare door with a good big window is included. as shown.   The vent window on this door is shot. but the one on the truck is good.   There are enough parts to make one good door.   Also includes a pair of spare heads. but no pushrods or rockers.   These heads were rebuilt years ago. with some new stainless valves and springs. but then sat around and surface rust got to them.   They'd clean up easily if they were decked a bit.

The clutch works. the transmission shifts. but the shift rods are disconnected.   The fuel and temp. gauges work. as does the instrument light.   No other lights work. nor does the incorrect starter switch in the dash -- a previous owner monkeyed with the wiring.   Correct original EBU Stromberg-type 2-barrel carburetor. which I cleaned out and it works fine.   Correct original (including paint) oil bath air cleaner. radiator (with antifreeze). fan shroud. and heater.   The glove box liner is still intact.   No butchering on the dash.   Cargo space in the rear has the original plywood deck with skid strips; deck has a hole about 3" diam. towards the right rear.   Rear doors are complete and work well. with all handles and latches and the two-stage upper door catches.   RH door has had its lower hinge poorly welded. but it's in alignment and closes properly.

I have no idea if the brakes work:  I doubt it.   I just got it running with a remote starter switch and a gravity-feed gas can. and it fired right up. with that nice Y block lope in the sound.   Nothing came out of the fuel pump. so I suspect the gas tank is dry. which is a good thing.

This is a great old truck with lots of character and potential. looking for a good home.   Panels like this are very hard to find in such original condition.

This is for local pickup or transport; how it leaves is up to the buyer.   I can facilitate loading (I have a rollback truck and a forklift).   I require a deposit of $1. 00 within 24 hours of close of auction. and total payment within 7 days.   If you can't pick the truck up immediately. I can store it for up to a month at no charge.   I'm negotiable. so talk to me if you win the auction.
