Dare we say that this is likely the nicest 1951 Lincoln Sport Sedan in existence? The present owner of over 20 years invested in excess of $120,000 into a rust-free, low mileage California-Arizona example. He has been a long-time LCOC judge and the owner of numerous Lincolns over the years and this example earned a first place at the LCOC Annual Meeting in Arizona. The odometer shows 34,500 miles, which the owner states is since it was new. He added a few thousand miles in the 17 years since the complete body on the frame restoration was completed. And it has been stored in an air conditioned hangar since. The Cosmopolitan Maroon livery is in very nice condition today with some touched up chips that are noticeable upon close inspection. The paint and body prep quality is excellent and it was well polished out to show standards. The chrome and stainless was all replated and polished. The bumpers are in very nice condition today, with some light scratches on the rear bumper from use. A few areas of chrome have light pitting, included some of the grill pieces. But overall, the exterior presence is stunning. The interior is a maroon and tan two tone leather combination that looks very nice and would be excellent for touring. The quality of the interior is excellent. The owner took certain liberties with the interior, such as full leather rather than leather and Bedford cord. The door sill plates have also been covered with the matching tan leather and there are embossed logos in the door panels. The dashboard is beautifully finished and the knobs, switches and steering wheel all reflect a restored low mileage car. The venerable 336.7 CID V8 was completely balanced and blueprinted during the restoration and the GM four-speed HydraMatic was rebuilt. The Lincoln drives very well and feels tight and correct. The owner installed an auxiliary fuel pump for priming after storage. In preparation for sale, we have replaced the battery, voltage regulator, rebuilt the generator and replaced the front brakes. This Lincoln now runs and drives very well. The Hagerty Price Guide shows a No. 1 example valued at $40,400 and a No. 2 example at $28,200. We have this priced to sell. For more details and information, please call, text or email Harry Clark at 1.602.245.7200 or . The Lincoln may be viewed at our Phoenix showroom.
