This 1948 Lincoln Continental Convertible is a CCCA approved "True Classic" that has a great look and is a great driver. The Continental was a hand-crafted, luxury model that built for Boulevard cruising and was initially designed by Raymond Loewy. The Continental was also Lincoln's first post-war model, leading it into the future of automobile manufacturing. The Continental was highly lauded for its artistic contribution to automobile design, being selected by the Museum of Modern Art and Time Magazine as one of the best-designed cars of all time. All together, Lincoln produced 1,299 Continentals in 1948 of which 452 were Convertibles, making this '48 a very rare example. This particular '48 Continental comes to us from a large Texas collection and spent time in Virginia previous to that. Powering this beautiful Continental is Lincoln's world-famous 305 V-12 Engine with a Single 2 Barrel Carburetor that pushed out 130 horsepower in its day. The smooth running V12 engine is mated up to a 3 Speed Manual Transmission with a column mounted shifter. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this Continental are in fantastic shape, especially for a 70+ year old automobile. The beige cloth power convertible top has a glass rear window, and goes up and down with ease with the simple pull or push of a button. The exterior of this 1948 Lincoln Mark I has been refinished in a beautiful black paint that has a fantastic shine and an ultra-classy look. This Lincoln Continental sits on 4 bias-ply Wide Whitewall Tires with Full Lincoln Hubcaps and Beauty Rings. The interior on this 1948 Lincoln Continental has a fantastic, regal look. The front split-bench seat and the rear bench seat is finished in Burgundy Leather with Black inserts, which gives this classic Lincoln a premium look. The color-matched Burgundy door panels and carpeting carry the elevated interior look throughout the vehicle. The dash and steering wheel are in nice shape as well, appearing to be in their stock configuration. The dash on this '48 Lincoln Mark 1 is equipped with a Speedometer, Temperature Gauge, Oil Pressure Gauge, Amp Gauge, Fuel Gauge, and Electric Clock. If you're looking for a true classic that was one of the most beautiful American cars ever made, this 1948 Lincoln Continental Convertible is the car for you. Give us a call today!
