WOLSELEY HORNET

DAYTONA SPECIAL SPORTS

1934.

This is an extremely rare Wolseley Hornet fitted with a Eustace Watkins of London touring sports body.

It can really be described as a barn find due to the fact that it has not been on the road for over 25 years where it has been in dry storage.

Last owner bought it over 50 years ago here in the UK and subsequently moved to America back in 1971 and shipped the car over with him.

The car has been known to the owners club for over 60 years and is documented, aparantly it did very well in early hill climbing sports. I also have a letter from them stating that it is a numbers matching car and that it is in fact still in its original colours of red with the aluminium side panels of the bonnet.

I am pretty sure it seems to be very much complete, even has its original Bluemels steering wheel, folding windscreen, hood rest brackets along with some other rare fixtures that are quite often missing.

It appears to be very straight and rot free on its body, wings and running boards and the wood work also is also very sound. The chassis also looks to be in excellent order.

The interior is mostly original with everything in place, all of its instruments are also present.

The straight 6 engine has been put back in to the car purely for transport purposes, but if you look at it closely you can clearly see that it has probably been rebuilt. Having removed the rocker cover you can see it all looks new, the camshaft looks to have been reprofiled, it has all new gaskets everywhere including the sump and has all been painted nicely but has yet to be plumbed in and ran.

I could not find hardly any for sale and being such a very rare model it does warrant a full restoration, however for those who like the shabby chic look, you could just finish plumbing the engine in, get it running and use it as it is.

The car was repatriated with the UK earlier this year and I have the Nova certificate to enable it to be registered again with DVLA, it will more than likely go back on to its original number due to the history that the club have.

Being sold due to a change of circumstances.

This is by no means a full description, it is just to give you an honest but brief idea of the condition of the car and is is in my opinion only.

Please read my previous feedback and bid with confidence.

Please also only bid if you are serious about owning a piece of British motoring history, if you are not sure please dont bid, come and have a look, it is located in Bromley Kent, if you are still not sure after that then please just dont bid as it just wastes everybodys time.

Sold as seen, no warranty offered or returns implied.

All funds to clear before release of vehicle.

I think that probably covers everything, if not any questions please get in touch.

Good luck and thanks for looking.
