This 1951 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Truck underwent an extensive restoration and is one of the nicest examples we've ever seen. Chevrolet's long history producing pickup trucks dates back to 1918, when it first started to produce its commercial line of trucks up until the War halted production until 1946. In 1947, once production started back up again, Chevrolet sold over a quarter million new pickups and the public continued purchasing new Chevy trucks in droves. In 1948, Chevy's truck line was redesigned and that style with was carried into the early 50s with only minor changes. For example, the 3100 received vent window treatment in 1951. This particular '51 Chevrolet 3100 comes to us from a prominent east coast collection and is believed to have spent minimal time in the elements after the restoration. Under the "Alligator-Jaw" hood on this 3100 Pickup is the ever reliable 216.5 Cubic Inch Thriftmaster Inline 6 Cylinder Engine with a Single Barrel Carburetor that pushed out 92 horsepower in its day. The 216 Thriftmaster is believed to have been recently rebuilt with new valves, rings, hoses, and belts as well as a having a new water pump and voltage regulator. The carburetor, generator and fuel system are all also believed to have been rebuilt or replaced at the same time. The reliable Thriftmaster is hooked up 3 Speed Manual Transmission that makes driving this classic pickup truck super fun and also is believed to have underwent a rebuild with a new clutch and throw out bearing. The brightwork around the exterior of this truck is in excellent condition having been replaced or refurbished during the restoration. The all steel box and wood bed are in excellent condition and it does not appear that anything has been hauled in this truck since it has been restored. The exterior of this '51 Chevrolet 3100 has been beautifully refinished in a two-tone paint scheme of Forester Green with Tuxedo Black Painted Fenders. This Chevy Truck sits on 4 LT215/85R16 Blackwall Radial Tires with Chevrolet hubcaps which make for great looking and nice riding truck. This interior on this 3 Window Chevy is absolutely incredible! The brown vinyl bench seat has an excellent look, appearing to have been recently re-upholstered. The headliner, door panels and dash have all been re-painted in a medium gray that gives the interior a period-correct look. The glass and seals all appear to have been replaced as well and show quite well. The dash is equipped with an 80 MPH Speedometer, Fuel Gauge, Battery Gauge, Temperature Gauge, and Oil Pressure Gauge. The steering wheel was also refurbished and has an excellent look and feel.
