Some new changes came about in 1968 to include the deletion of the quarter vent windows. the addition of federally mandated side marker lights. introduction of Astro Ventilation. ignition switch moved to the dash. and staggered rear shocks were added to reduce wheel hoop on stand still acceleration. Other mechanical changes were added based on option selection. The Camaro was definitely here to stay and fans were ready to buy! Production numbers nearly matched the prior year almost exactly. with the top priced convertible being the most rare to find today.

According to the past owners. our example was ordered new by its first female owner and stayed with her until the mid-1990's. It then sold to the second owner when elected to convert the original 2-barrel carburetion to a correct style Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor and GM intake. complete with dual exhaust. Again. long term ownership ensued and the second owner had the car repainted in approximately 2010 in the original color. The interior remains all original which includes the carpet. seat upholstery. dash pad. seatbelts. door panels. etc. ! The convertible top is new and represents one of about half of the original convertibles delivered from the factory with a power folding top option! The original hood is included with the sale of this vehicle. but was fitted prior to the repaint with big block Super Sport design. along with a front valance spoiler for added appeal! At our count. this wonderful Camaro has had just three owners from new. and today shows only 77. 39 miles. We feel certain from experience that this mileage is actual. but not enough documentation was provided to support a guaranteed actual mileage claim.
