1970 VOLVO AMAZON 131RALLY PREPARED 2 DOOR COUPE A rare opportunity to own a Historic Rallyprepared VolvoAmazon. Amazons are sought after for rallying due to their near 50:50 weight
distribution giving predictable handling; the availability of spares at
reasonable cost;legendarybuild quality andabove all -their reliability
driven by the bullet-proof B20 engine. This–my 3rdrally Amazon -has
been round Silverstone, Abbeville,competed on The Hughes, East
Anglian and many, many more. Now could do with some patchingtobring it
back to its former glory.Sadly, my2ndbout of Covid has left me with the
long versionand barely enoughenergy tomake a cup of tea. So, with a

heavy heart, here she is:

Engine: 2 litre B20B engine and box, twinSUcarbson modified alloy inlet manifold and four branch exhaust manifold leading
to big bore Simonsexhaust system. Engine runs sweetly, box still good but dropping a bit of oil now.Alloy sump guard.
Suspension:–Lowered 25mm all round with progressive springs and running Bilsteinsall round. The car has done probably 10 mainly road navigation events since build.

Inside:Safety Deviceshomologated full bolt-inroll cage.Sparcoharnesses. OMPFIA homologation seats. Ralloyracing fuel tank and internal fuel supply pipes. Splash filler and body mounted filler too whichrequires connection,ifneeded.

BrantzInternational 2 pro rallymeter and Brantz V2timer,both with remotes.
Axle:–Axle is a well built LSDfrom the quickest Amazon which was out there KWD 383D have a look at it on the Wyedean!
Wheels and tyres:–Fab set of unmarked Minilitestyle alloys running nearly new fabulous YokohamaW drivetyres.

Bad bits: Needs each corner of the sills weldedaround the jacking points. Hole in passenger floor,holes in outriggers.There are signs of bubbling under the windscreen (common fault). Passenger door kissed a hedge so she is supplied with a
really good replacement door. Drivers door has corrosion lower down too and the post would benefit from some tlc too.

Front wings -corrosion around headlamps.Boot lowerlipcorroded but supplied withalightweight fibreglass replacement bootlid.

The ideal car to enter the Historic rally scene. These cars are easy to drive and maintain and are ideal for
local navigation rallies all the way up to InternationalHistoric events. MOT exempt; Tax exempt; ULEZ exempt and my comprehensive insurance with Adrian Flux is only £130 p.a. That's cheap motoring!

This is arunning, driving Amazonwhich you can enjoy tomorrow but deserves some workshop time. I will not add up the amount spent so far, but this represents extremely good value!With good rally spec Amazons heading towards £30,000, there is plenty of scope toimprove this car, have a lot of fun and maybe even come out with a profit!‘How many left'website shows only 98 131's still on the UK roads
