Up for sale is a 1965 Ford Ranchero.  We received this car when my father in law passed away.  It was in his garage for more than 35 years.  I had intended to have it restored and drive it occasionally. but it has turned out that it is quite costly to have older cars restored.  I took it to a local restoration place in town and the work began.  Bottom line. i have put about $21. 00 in this car and cannot put another penny in it.  After i had all the body work done. the car ran. albeit kind of rough.  I took it to another local garage and they did a compression test and said one cylinder wasn't working and the compression was low on a few of the other cylinders.  The said they need to tear the engine down to get more details so i authorized it.  A few days later. they called and said it would need a new engine.  To put the existing engine back together would be another $450.  That is when i decided it would be better to sale it as is.  i had it towed home and it is now ready to find a new home.  This would be a great car for someone that has an engine and transmission (transmission shifted when it was running but wasn't very smooth).
After initial restoration. the car was only driven about 50 miles.

It has a 302 V8 with an automatic transmission.
The block is still in the vehicle.  the heads. intake. carb. and other items are included with the auction.

I have receipts for most of the items replaced or repaired but just wanted to list a few of the bigger ones.
- Installed disk brake. front and back (over $2000)- New rims and tires ($1300)- Fuel tank cleaned. resealed. and new fuel lines. to include fuel pump- All new brake lines - New floor. from front to back.  ($1300)- Lots of new front end parts. to include shocks- Too much stuff to list individually

The body was taken down to the metal.  Very little bondo on car.  See attached pictures.  It was repainted an Antique white.  Looks really good with the chrome rims.
Again. i just cannot put any more money in this car.  My loss will be someones gain.
The picture that shows it when it was painted black was right before we had it restored.
