A delightfully original. correct and sound car. needing light renovation in combination with preservation to keep the character and charm alive. Importantly. the body structure is nice and sound. and the car has a lovely undisturbed quality. Paintwork is old and shabby and the leather in the front is in tatters. but much is saveable as well. Desirable. original features include P100 ‘bullseye' headlamps. PLG40 centre lamp. various tools. vanity set. etc. Last used in the 1980s. but running sweetly. and has a lovely. undisturbed. correct feel on the road. Recommissioned. MoT tested until October 2014. and ready to 'use and improve'.

Chassis No. GUB51. Reg No. VV 2802. £25. 00.

Snippets: The first name on the chassis card is that of the Honourable Alice Jane Nivison. daughter of 1st Baron Glendyne. The Nivison family can trace their family tree back to the 1700s and offshoots of the family emigrated to Canada & Australia. In 1908 Alice's sister Jessie was married to Mr. A N Rickett and their guests included many notable Australians: Sir John & Lady Cockburn (Ex-Premier of S. Australia). Hon & Mrs Taverner (Min of Ag - Victoria). Sir H. Tozer (Politican). Lady Wittenoom (1st wife of Sir Horace Wittenoom). That same year Alice Nivison (Australian branch) was also wed. to a fellow Australian Euston Barrington Blomfield whose family had also emigrated to Australia in the early 1800s. The Hon. Alice Jane Nivison never married & remained at the family home with her brother Alexander; in August 1946 thieves broke into their home & held her at gunpoint whilst they robbed her of jewels. furs & money to the value of £1. 00. 00. Branch Hill Lodge can count Sir Thomas Parker (Earl of Macclesfield & Lord High Chancellor 17/18/25). Bartholomew Claypon (Private bank of Claypon & Garfit) & also Lady Anne Byron & her daughter Ada (Lady Byron married the poet in January 1815 & was granted a legal separation from Lord Byron in November 1816).

Comments and questions to the seller:

from Mark Taylor, dated 20 april 2023
Alice Nivison died in 1977 and left the car to my father in her will. He owned a garage business in Branch Hill (Hampstead, London) opposite the Nivison residence of Branch Hill Lodge where the car was maintained.
