1973 Citroën

Offered for sale is my 1973 Citroen DS23 IE 5 speed. 131700 original km. with factory late model European a/c. VIN DSFG01FG3874. The car was originally white. I had it restored and painted a different shade of white. with a gray metallic roof. I do have some pictures of the restoration process.

   I bought the car in The Netherlands and had it restored in another part of Europe. This car was never in any accidents nor had body work previous to the restoration. The Pallas side molding was deleted during the restoration as I felt the car looks better without it. General scope of restoration was: The car was stripped down to bare Chassis. The trunk floor was replaced with new. Cylinder head was rebuilt. water pump. thermostat. engine gaskets/seals replaced. Suspension spheres replaced. and cylinders rebuilt. suspension boots etc replaced. Front brake rotors and pads replaced. along with new rear brake shoes. Exterior body panels were fully stripped. repaired. and painted.   The car has zero rust. Interior received. new carpets. seat covers. headliner and door panels. The interior door handles were replaced with new. All electrical systems operate including the clock. The car arrived in California in early 2015. Vehicle was legally imported. titled and registered in California. Currently holds a clean California title. The car runs. drives. and operates as designed. the late model R12 factory a/c has been restored in California with new seals. dryer. and expansion valve. The system works and has held a full charge for over 2 years. I have obtained a factory US spec radio which has not yet been installed.

    In the summer of 2016 the vehicle was vandalized due to a political sticker which was placed on the back of the car by my friend as a joke.

     I am offering the car up for sale as I am really depressed with the whole situation. and have a lack of time in getting the car back to the level where I would want it.

Here is exactly what is damaged/missing on the car:

The car was never been in and accident. nor was it driven by the vandals.

Roof is cracked. and scratched. can be repaired however I have a perfect replacement roof

Three doors (driver and passenger front. and left rear) are badly dented. I have 3 original. rust free replacement doors

Front windshield and driver door window broken. I have a replacement driver window glass

Both front fenders are dented. I have two perfect original. rust free replacement fenders

Both headlamps are smashed. The housings and glass lenses need replacing. the actual headlamps are OK

Trunk lid badly dented. I have a replacement. original. rust free replacement lid

The hood and remaining body panels are scratched. with no dents. or other damage

The driver and passenger front seat covers have been cut.

List of needed parts to complete:

Door mirrors. Can be obtained locally

Front windshield glass. Can be obtained locally

Headlamp lenses. and housings. Can be obtained from Citro Classique in NL

Front Seat covers. These were put on new during restoration and were obtained from Citro Classique in NL

The missing brake ducts. and front undercovers. misc trim. weather-strips I have on hand and are included with the car.

Besides the short list of parts above the car needs to go to a good body shop to do the body. paint work and final assembly. This is a very rare and sought after vehicle. which cost me over $50. 00. I am willing to sell it at or close to the stated price. if not I will eventually have it repaired and keep it. Please respect my time and yours and do not give me low ball offers.
