1972 Dodge Polara Custom.  Only one in the world like it.

Before you bid. please read the following statement.

I did a custom restore on this car 8 years ago.   It included a frame off.   It was rebuilt to be a daily driver.   People who have followed this car all these years envied it for all its innovations.   The joke around my house was I was to be buried in it.   But I became very sick a year ago and my fun was over.

I had just completed most of the installation of a 78 Chrysler dash in the car and was driving it around when I got sick.  So the dash is mechanically completed. but electrically it needs some work yet.  Gauges were working. but stopped.  Speedo needs a cable. (provided) I will be providing the wiring diagrams for it.   I had a couple of friends come in and put the dash back together for me. so I am unsure of how it's assembled now.  It seems to be OK.

Mechanically it needs nothing but maybe some cleaning up.   The body. floors and trunk are rust free.   The interior is custom as you can see. but needs some tending too.   The trim needs to be re-glued. (I have no idea what this upholstery guy was thinking) It's really minimal work.

I could go on all day about the things done on this car. I will try to keep it simple.   Ask questions about the overall category.   There is way too much to tell here and you'll read it.

Engine

1998 Magnum 5. 9. . 030 over domed pistons. Hughes Cam. roller rockers. nbsp; Fuel Injection. Street ported heads and lots more.   Gets 22 on the highway.  Over 5 Grand in the engine alone.

Transmission

1992- 518 Overdrive Transmission. built to the diesel specs.   Made to take the abuse.

Suspension

Custom rear springs made by Alcan Spring.   Reduced body roll with great handling.   Rides like a dream. 3. 23 Sure-Grip rear

Front Suspension and brakes

Completely rebuilt including new bushings.  Great shape all the way around.   Front disc.

Body

Completely repainted 7 years ago.   Needs some minor repairs and scratch repair.   I started to repair a rust through on the door.   See picture.   Rust was treated and stopped.   Vinyl top was removed. rust repaired and painted 2 years ago.  Couple of hard to see dings compliments of Hurricane Sandy.

Interior

Completely redone 7 years ago.   Needs some attention with some good glue.   It really needs a new carpet.   Includes a brand new Sony radio/CD and comes with a Sirius setup that needs to be installed.

Features

This is the first C Body in the world to get a working Magnum/518 transplant.   Cruise control. Delay Wipers. Digital gauges. Electric cooling fans. power windows and seats.  tons of little things.   HID headlights with Halogen High Beams. (Blinding)  LED exterior lighting.   (See Pic) Lots of sound deadening

I drove it about 50. 00 miles in 7 years.   The engine was installed 10. 00 ago.   The trans has been serviced.

The windshield pillars need to have some covers made.  Between the 78 and the 72 pillar covers you can make what you need.   Those parts are provided.

When you get down to it. it needs some electrical work in the dash. and 5 or 6 hours of body/paint work to be a real nice car.   I have some trophies and plaques for it somewhere from shows too.

This is a get in it and drive car.   I drove it this week to get gas in it.  Miss the old beast.   Never let me down.

This car needs that someone special.  It draws lots of attention where ever you go.
