1973 Pontiac Grand Am coupe. 455 Tri Power factory sunroof. VIN 2H37T3P247976

Originally designed to be the GTO. the Grand Am instead rolled out as its own model. designed to compete with European coupes and sedans of the time. with the LeMans-based exterior and the Grand Prix interior. and a handling package bettered domestically by only the Corvette and the Firebird/Camaro. Deep bucket seats with lumbar supports. as well as the more refined wood-grained Grand Prix dash and thick padded steering wheel made the Grand Am a driver's kind of car. The Radial Tuned Suspension with 15 inch radial tires and huge front and rear anti-sway bars added to the driving experience. There were 34. 35 Grand Am coupes built in 1973 based on the long tradition of GTO's and other hot muscle coupes. but you don't see many still on the road or at shows very often.

Overall: Basically stock with some mild customization. The two tone paint scheme in Cameo White and Firethorn is based on the late 70s Grand Prix style. it was painted in 2000 on a good solid rust free body. The fiberglass replacement nose was put on at that time. The car has always been stored indoors during my ownership. Factory sunroof. Aftermarket radio. I added twin power antennas when the car was repainted. The engine was replaced with a Pontiac 455 with older style tri-power (3 x 2bbl carbs) and dual exhaust before I bought the car. There are 118. 00 showing on the odometer. which I believe to be correct for the body. but I do not know the mileage on the engine.

Driving: Fun. Fast. and nimble. this car is a blast to drive and gets looks and compliments everywhere you go. I have put about 100 miles on it this week to make sure everything is still working well; the AC is still blowing cold too. Auto transmission. power steering and power brakes. I have just been focusing on my older. larger cars over the years. so it is time for someone else to enjoy this mid-sized muscle car beauty.

Exterior: This is a rust free car in great shape. The paint was done 17 years ago but is still in excellent condition with the exception of a few nicks and chips as you would expect. The honeycomb wheels were painted to match the body. 1970 GTO style exhaust extensions were added as well as a Pontiac hood tach and tinted windows.

Inside: Full gauges with the clock on the left. not a tachometer. the tach is on the hood. Power driver's seat and power windows. plus factory power sunroof. Rear window defogger. The interior is all original except the driver's seat was recovered in NOS material last year. carpet and heel pad are in great shape. When the ashtray lid broke. I removed it and had a guy make me a cup holder in its place. see photos.

Inspection: I travel a lot. so please forgive me if I do not reply to any questions right away. You are welcome to inspect the car or have a friend or whomever check out the car in person before you bid.

Reserve: There is a reserve on this auction. but please do not ask what it is. I often lower the reserve during the auction if bidding is going well. so if I told you the current reserve and it was just over your max amount. but my later-in the-week lowered reserve was under your max amount. then I would have lost a bidder. So please do not ask.
