A highly optioned 1972 Cougar XR7 Convertible. Number Matching. Options XR7 Package. Style Décor Wheels. Power Windows. Power Disc Brakes. Power Drivers Seat. Full Console. Glass Rear Window. Rim blow horn Steering Wheel.

Car retains its original driveline. interior and equipment.   351 Cleveland Engine. 2V and Dual Exhaust.

This is a great running car. Not a race car. but a great cruising car. You can drive it anywhere. great for cruise nights. show and weekend trips. Summer top down driving. I just drove it to the Ford Nationals in Carlisle PA and back 884 miles R/T and ran great.

Car does not use or leak oil. Transmission shifts correct and fluid clear and correct color. It can leave drips when sitting. but oil. tranny fluid and other fluids do not go down. Brakes are tight and lines are good. All gages. lights. wipers and accessories work as they should. AC is all there and compressor spins. but not converted or hooked up. Convertible top is high quality and recent. Correct rear glass window in great condition. Undercarriage is dry and clean. Torques boxes are good.

I had every intention of keeping the car. Its a rare color combo for that year and an overall easy car to own.  At Carlisle I ran into a car for sale that I wanted more.   So selling this. because I have no place to store it.

Work Done:

New Front Spring. Shocks and sway bars Carburetor rebuild New front brakes Re-chromed front bumper Sequential taillight system redone. Carpet Removed and all insulation replaced with original type padding and additional sound paddingNew carpet installedRim blow horn ring replacedFront and rear frame sanded and coated with Por-15Floors replaced in the last few years Differential fluid changed. radiator flushed last year. Hoses belts. plugs. wires. cap and rotor changed 2016. More work can't keep track of it

Things to point out - That is was planning on starting this fall

- Front-end bushing. The front end is good.   New spring. shocks. sway bar. but it needs new bushings. Rattles some. Wheels need to be balanced - realized this in last trip. Power windows are an issue. Had all 4 working. but two rears are now stuck in the up position. They do get power. Power seat is slow. motor needs to be cleaned. Firewall on passenger side has a hole where the drain was. I was going to cover over. There is some rust repair on the hood lip and it is starting to crack and show. I have the exact match to the paint and clear coat that goes with the car. both spray and touch up kit. Small bubbling on the bottom of the quarter panel behind the drivers door.   The paint is one older repaint of original color that is showing its age up close. but still shines.

The true mileage is unknown. Someone did a lot of work and then it sat for years. The lenses over the gages are newer and instrument panel may have been replaced.

This a fun. dependable good weather cruiser. That is a great reliable driver.   It an H Code car and I have priced it to sell and am not a dreamer.   Great car that people all admire. Great for shows and trips. I have priced it for what it is.

I have more engine compartment and undercarriage photos I can send for some reason I couldn't add more than 13

Please ask any questions.   Car is registered and available for inspection

Thanks
