Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a RARE 1978 Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL. We at Davis Auto Sales are offering this 450 SEL as a bank repo for Plains Capital Bank. The title will include repo papers from Plains Capital Bank. This Benz has been sitting in the garage of the debtor and has not been registered or state inspected since 1996. It currently will not stay running on its own and we are having to use carberator cleaner to make it run due to the old fuel settling in the fuel system. We have had the tank dipped and cleaned along with a new Bosch Fuel Pump and fuel filter. We had the car running and even drove it around 10 or so miles and it actually ran and drove great. The engine is a 6. 9L 250 Hp @ 4000 rpm. nbsp;360 ft-lbs. @ 2500 rpm. nbsp;6. 9 Liter Fuel Injected with 2 Single Overhead Cams (SOHC) V-8 engine that is mated to a Three Speed Automatic Transmission. The car is in pretty good shape for the year.   I have looked around the car and have not seen any signs of rust. The paint itself is in good condition with only a few surface scratches that would probably come out with a good buff. The right front headlamp is broken. The interior is also in good condition with only the drivers seat back having a hole torn in it.   There is also some discoloration on the tops of the seat from the sun. A good detail on this Mercedes-Benz would make a world of difference. I really don't think there is to much left wrong with this car on the running side since we have done most of the work you would normally do on a car that has sat up with bad fuel.
