1979 Ford F-150

Selling my completely redone 1979 Ford F-150 Custom 4x4.
My dad and I have been working on this truck for the past 2 years. and as much as I want to keep it. it just doesn't make sense to use it as a daily driver like I am and with college coming up soon it just isn't practical.

Body:
The cab corners. sills. and floors were replaced. the bed is from the south and needed little work.
The beautiful black paint was done in March of this year.
The doors looked so good without the mirrors. we left them off and went with the 4" peep mirrors with LED turn signals.
The bed has a custom made roll pan welded in under the tailgate.

Frame:
During the rebuild. we found that the original frame was to far gone to save. The cab and bed were removed and a 1997 F-150 frame was used instead. The motor mounts and tranny mounts were modified to accept the 1979 351M engine and automatic transmission and transfer case. Both the front and rear driveshafts used the same type of universal joints to be connected to the differentials. The complete 1997 F-150 running gear including axles. brakes. suspension. and steering components sit under the 79 body. With the 1997 F-150 using a vacuum actuated front axle locking mechanism. A manual differential cable lock kit was installed. This system allows the user to simply pull a knob located under the dash to lock the front axle in place to use four wheel drive. The 1979 transfer case and shifter is still also used to select the drive type and hi/lo range. New 19gal gas tank. new fuel line and brake lines. It also has a Reese style trailer hitch with a lighted license plate bracket (not shown in the pics)
 It has 16" Mickey Thompson bead lock aluminum wheels with 285/75 tires. The tires are loud and probably will need replaced soon.
The truck is titled as the original 1979 Ford F-150.

Engine:
The engine to my knowledge is the original 351M. It now has a Holley 600cfm carb. Weiand intake. Hooker headers and Summit Turbo mufflers.

The interior has new carpet. a bench seat. Pioneer head set with Bluetooth. padded door panels and recovered headliner.

The truck runs and drives good. It is not 100% perfect but is a definite head turner and fun to drive.
