For sale is my 1980 MG MGB.
This was my "barn find" in New Mexico. It had been off the road for a while. The most important thing was that it was a desert car with no rust!
While living in New Mexico I started my ongoing restoration. The work that I couldn't do was done by Old Car Garage of Albuquerque. The car had had the following replaced:
Radiator. flex hose lines. brakes. track rod ends / ball joints. rear suspension work. cylinder head work and full tune up and service.
The down side of the car is the paint work and the body has some small dings.
A new exhaust manifold was added as well as a catalytic converter to get it through emissions.

Moving back to Portland the shipping company added some extra scratches.
I have had the electrics reviewed and updated by BMC here in town. A new fuse box was added as well as some relays changed out. A new sender unit has been added to the fuel tank as well as a new fuel filter.

The interior of the car is in good condition. There are seat covers but that is just to protect the seats. no rips. There is a dash cover as the desert sun cracked the top of the dash. There are two small rips in the side of the top but these have been patched and the rest of the top is in good condition. No ripped windows. The previous owner made his own trunk support attachment. it can be seen in the photos.

The original carb was replaced by the previous owner for a Weber item. A cone air filter as well as custom heat shield was added when in the desert. This does make a big difference and keeps the carb cooler.

All in all it is a good car. Nothing major is wrong with it. just a bit shabby in places. The good thing is that it is an all original car with matching numbers. The low 146000 miles are on the original engine. The car has been converted to manual choke and starts first time. During the summer I drive this car every week.

I picked up a period hard top for the meet at PIR. Bought all the brackets and have it fitted. It is a nice treat to be able to drive this car on those dry winter days we get with the heater working nicely. The hard top comes with the car. A car cover is also with the car to keep the dust of it in the garage.

The tags are good for one more year. (2018)
