1981 DeLorean DMC-12

The DeLorean DMC-12 is a sports car manufactured by John DeLorean's DeLorean Motor Company for the American market from 1981–83. The car features gull-wing doors and an innovative fiberglass body structure with a steel backbone chassis. along with external brushed stainless steel body panels. It became widely known and iconic for its appearance. and it was modified as a time machine in the Back to the Future media franchise as we will be adding some back to the future DeLorean Toys with the sale.

The body design of the DMC-12 was a product of Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital Design and is paneled in brushed SS304 stainless steel.  

The engine is a Peugeot-Renault-Volvo (PRV) 2. 85 litre V6. which produced about 130 hp. that was designed and built under special contract with the DMC Company. These PRV engines were a development of the 2. 7 litre V6 in the Renault 30. and were built in the PRV Factory in Douvrin. Northern France

The suspension of the DMC-12 is a four-wheel independent suspension. coil springs. and telescopic shock absorbers. The front suspension uses double wishbones. while the rear is a multi-link setup.

The original Ducellier alternator supplied with the early production DMC-12s could not provide enough current to supply the car when all lights and electrical options were on; as a result. the battery would gradually discharge.

This vehicle is from 1981 so as you expected there is some very minor wear due to aging as shown in photos. Listed below is a complete list of everything that is known to the best of my knowledge about the vehicle. Front hood has small dent on right side. drivers seat have a couple small tears. small crack on the sunshade louvre. rear engine compartment latch needs adjusted. top of passenger door has small dent (does not leak). drivers side door seal has corroded(not rust) etc. Car is in very good condition and has a nice shine as there is no fading in its exterior.
