1961 Lincoln Continental for sale
Current customer rating: (185 votes ) based onThe Car's only been in one show its entire life which was about a month ago in Northern CA. This is the first time its been up for sale to the public ever. its been passed between family and friends since new
When he bought it. it only had 14k miles on it and according to the original owner they barely drove the car around San Francisco. I've got documented receipts and papers with the milage on it until 1979 when the car was parked with 20k doc miles on it. So knowing all of that and the condition of the cars interior and engine bay. I would safely say there is only 20k miles on it. I don't think it has rolled over.
There are no cracks in the steering wheel or most of the dash. when i got the car there was only one small spider crack on the dash pad but barely noticeable. The seats are original with the ordinary cracking but not splitting. they are very usable. i've actually applied saddle soap and other oils to soften up the leather in case someone wanted to keep the original leather. Only original once. I researched new seat covers and they're around $1700 so I wanted to leave the interior customization up to the new owner.
It was painted this last month with Super Jet Black Base and Dupont Clear Coat. We had a New Canvas top put on this week made by Robbins Auto Top
All the Bumpers and most trim pieces have been ReChromed and All the Stainless has been removed and Polished.
The Lincoln starts right up and it runs great. New Master Cylinder and brake pads. New Magnaflow mufflers. It drives down the road pretty well. has small vibrations here and there but what old car doesn't. I replaced the heater core and put all new heater hoses on the car. The engine bay is very original. Radiator and other parts have original date code on them. Most of the paint is still in great original shape. I just cleaned it up really well.
The windshield is original. It still has the original stickers from AAA from 1961 and the national automobile club which is pretty cool. there is a small bb hole under the national auto club sticker but its very hard to see and hasn't grown since it happened. should be fine.
The Coker Classic Radial Tires are brand new. I painted the original 14" wheels to match the paint on the car and added Cragar spider caps and beauty rings. Gives it that Detroit Steel look. Also i Static dropped the car about 1. 75 inches. The headlights are all period correct T3's that came with the car.
This car is a very fun cruiser. It's got a ton of class. everyone wants it when i take it out into town. and everyone has a story about how their parents or grandparents had one of these and they would never let them drive it because it was too luxurious. Its a really fun car to drive.
If you want more pictures or have any questions please feel free to message me. thanks so much.
