This '66 Chevelle SS396 has had quite a bit of work done to it and is in needs of finishing up a few things. The paint and body show well front to back. The mechanicals appear to be solid. The car runs strong and shifts like it should. The 396 engine was just rebuilt. This powerplant is not VIN stamped. but it is an era-correct block (3855961) This is a car that you can drive and enjoy. tinker with and improve on to make it even better. a true 138 SS which makes it even better. The heater core is disconnected. assume that it either needs replacement. or you could convert to an aftermarket A/C system such as Vintage Air brand.  Windshield wiper arms & blades were not installed either.   Note the paint chips where the wiper's mount. Not a perfect car. but good condition.  

Under the hood. the 396 has been rebuilt & a serpentine belt system added. The car has manual drum brakes all around. Chevelle's didn't get standard front disc brakes until 1967.
The interior is in good shape. The bucket seating has had new upholstery. The door panels are in good condition. The steering wheel is the optional two spoke woodgrain sport wheel.  

The dash is in good shape as well. The original gauges are intact and the bezels are showing some age. but everything is there (see photos)

The car has had the floor pans replaced. I didn't have access to a lift for better photos. 12-Bolt rear end. drum brakes front to back. Gas tank appears original. Exhaust system looks new.
