When it comes to eccentric car owners. you have to go a ways to beat Howard Hughes. He was bizarre in his personal life style. and got more so as he grew older. In Las Vegas he's better known for casinos and land. lots of land.
Back in the 40's Hughes was better known for the Spruce Goose (a wood airplane with eight engines) and a lot of military work to support the war effort. A brilliant man that always wanted his privacy. This beautiful limousine provided that and so much more.
To own this car is to better understand the man. the time and what a luxury lifestyle meant in the 40's. It has quite the provenance in addition to being a show piece.
