Seller's notes: Exceptional, Investment quality, 1965 Austin Healey 3000, finished in a beautiful Irish Mist Met. This color was proposed by Donald Healey. This car is being restored by British Motor Corporation of Philadelphia, PA. This car is 6 weeks from completion, needing exterior paint and the interior color selected and installed. All aspects of the car have been addressed during the ground up, nut and bolt, bare metal restoration. The car is perfect in every way with numerous upgrades to higher standards. line bored balanced engine, Dyno tested and tuned with 195H.P., new wiring, fuel system, rebuilt original gearbox w/overdrive, stainless exhaust, Dayton wires, hand rubbed BC/CC Standox finish. This 1966 Austin Healey 3000. This car is the subject of a ground up. nut and bolt. body off. bare metal restoration. IT WILL BE COMPLETED IN SIX WEEKS.  Every aspect of this car is being restored. tested. and well sorted.  The car has perfect lines. excellent finish. and has received numerous hidden upgrades to make it a superior car for driving. weekend touring or vintage car events. This is one of the finest Austin Healey's available anywhere. It is truely a no excuses. investment grade offering.  
Body: ExcellentBody was disassembled. all steel panels sand blasted or stripped to bare metal. alloy panels stripped. any rust or deteriorating metal removed and correct replacement panels installed. Any patches installed were properly fitted using a butt welding method. Unlike many restorers we do not overlap weld our patches unless the panel was installed in a overlap method by the original manufacturer. Body was refit with excellent fitment.  The result is perfect finish. gaps and presentation.
Chassis: ExcellentChassis was stripped to bare metal using sand blasting.  This method of paint removal insures the complete removal of rust.  Any rusted panels were removed or properly patched to insure proper fit and correct alignment. The chassis was measured and cosmetically repaired to insure a better than new finished product. The body was removed and re-fit to the chassis no less than six times during chassis restoration to insure proper fitment.  
Paint: ExcellentChassis and body were painted using a high quality urethane base coat clear coat product. The urethane base coat is produced by Herbert Standox of Germany. This product is know for exceptional consistency and perfect color match to the original Healey color pallet. It is also known as one of the most expensive automotive paints available today.  The high solid urethane clear coat is produced by PPG and is one of the premier show grade finishes available today.  The entire chassis. exterior body. interior body and engine bay have received the same high quality base coat clear coat finish. The exterior finish is being applied this week and will be blocked and polished to a glass like finish.  
Engine: ExcellentEngine was rebuilt to high standards. with slight modifications to fast BJ8 street standards. The engine was acid washed. line bored. balanced. deck. planed. polished and ported. The engine has been Dyno tested and run in. A dyno sheet is supplied with the car. this engine is documented at 195HP.  The engine runs smoother than a stock Healey motor and shows no sign of performance upgrades at idel.  The engine has been fitted with new pistons. reground crankshaft. new bearings thruout. no lead head conversion. hot street cam upgrade. hot cam lifter modifications. new oil pump. new alloy oil pan. new timing gear. chain and tensioners. reconditioned Hamonic balancer. new balanced lightened flywheel. new water pump. new oil filter assy. recurved distributor.  
Transmission: Original 4 speed transmission. with overdrive. rebuilt.  
Hydraulics: ExcellentHydraulics have been rebuilt or replaced thruout the car.  New Master cylinders. new slave cylinder. new hydraulic lines thruout. new wheel cylinders rear. new reservior. rebuilt front calipers.
Electrical system: ExcellentNew correct replacement wiring harnesses thruout. Rebuilt generator. new voltage regulator. new Lucas shut off switch. New lights thruout. New Group 27 battery.  
Cooling: ExcellentRecorred correct radiator with a upgraded double density core. This increases coolant capacity while looking stock.  Upgraded BMC tropical 6 bladed fan. New hoses thruout. new water pump. new radiator cap. new overflow hose.
Carbs: ExcellentNew. correct SU HD8 carbs were installed instead of rebuilding the old SU HD8's.
Fuel system: ExcellentNew fuel tank. new fuel lines. new SU fuel pump. new sending unit.
Interior: To be selected by new owner!Interior color has not been selected as of yet and can be selected by the buyer. Our interiors are produced for us by Automat of Long Island. NY. The interior will be either original Ambla or Leather seating surface. to be selected by the new owner. The seat bases. foams and seat belts are also new.  New wood dash from AH Spares of the UK. New glove box liner. original style glove box lock.  Gauges: ExcellentGauges were rebuilt by Nisonger gauge.
Wheels and tires: ExcellentWheels are produced by Dayton wire wheel in the 72 spoke format.  Tires are the Vedrestein HR 185 15. Wheels and tires were mounted and trued by Henricks wire wheel. The wheels are smooth to and beyond 100MPH.  
Top and Top boot: To be selected by new owner. Top and top boot are produced of original Ambla a correct high grade materials imported from the UK.     
Suspension: ExcellentSuspensions was completely rebuilt with new bushings. new steering shaft and worm gear. new King pins. new tie rod ends. Rear springs were replaced with correct replacement. front spring replaced with old stock coils.  All shocks were rebuilt by Worldwide in Wisconsin. Front caliper rebuilt. front rotors replaced and balanced. rear drums balanced. New wheel bearings front and rear. New axel seals rear. Rear end reconditioned.  
Glass: ExcellentNew front windscreen. new side door windows. original vent window glass. New rubber thruout.  
Trunk: ExcellentNew trunk finish kit. New spare tire tie down.  
Chrome: ExcellentChrome has been replaced or re-plated using a triple plate chroming system.    
Exhaust system: ExcellentExhaust system replaced at time of restoration. We opted for the upgraded stainless steel exhaust used on virtually all of our restorations.
