1969 AUSTIN HEALEY SPRITE ..... NICE

VERY CLEAN - HIGHLY ORIGINAL

WELL MAINTAINED

As the name suggests. the renowned Austin Healey sports car was the product of two very different companies. During the 1940s Austin became known to American motorists as a major producer of quaint little sedans. Donald Healey was known in the 1930s as a racer and engineer. He was also the technical director at the Triumph company. Austin and Healey joined forces and built their first sports car in the spring of 1953. Austin Healeys soon became popular in America. as a result of their reasonable price and attractive appearance. coupled with a tough and well proven engine. In 1958. the Sprite version was introduced as a compliment to the bigger Healeys. The Austin Healey Sprite Mark 1V was the last Healey built making it a much desired true sports car ( See Barrett Jackson and Dupont Registry for Current values) A 1969 Sprite like the one offered here. lot 621 recently sold for $17. 00.

THIS AUSTIN HEALY SPRITE MARK IV

This Austin Healy Sprite Mark 1V is a very clean. highly original. well maintained motorcar. It does not leak. has no filler. is straight down the sides. All panels. doors and top line up correctly. It is a beauty with its chartreuse yellow exterior. black interior and black accents including almost new tires. black top. black boot and black day cover.

EXTERIOR

The exterior has all of the original body seams. The door insides are rust free and have absolutely no filler of any kind. The bottom of the fenders show the original factory press stretches. not common to these cars. All of the lights work inside and out. The top is in excellent condition. and so is the boot and day cover. They all fit perfectly. All of the snaps are there on all 3 pieces and attach correctly. The insides are not stained as the top was never down in inclement weather.

UNDER CARRIAGE

Several photos were taken to show the condition of the under carriage. There are no areas of concern. These photos are close up and might not be very pretty. but they tell the real story as to the over-all condition of the car. There never has been any repair. it is completely dry and in excellent condition. (see photo gallery)

INTERIOR

The interior is spotless. The sun visors. rear view mirror. seat belts. dash. upholstery and carpets are in very good condition. There are no tears or wear areas. The gauges are crystal clear. This model has a safety-type dash board. The carpet was pulled back from behind the seats in order to show the condition of the floor. It is as new. Even all of the snaps are in place. The trunk is perfectly clean and in exceptional condition. (see Photo gallery)

ENGINE

The engine and engine compartment are clean and nicely detailed. More often than not. this is primary as to a vehicle's overall condition. Nothing is missing. Everything is in place. The valve cover. inner fender. block and door tags are original and very visible. After 45 years since manufacture. this has some meaning. At the time of this writing the miles read 50. 97.

The Mark 1V was the last and best Austin Healey Sprite. Its larger 1275cc engine was derived from the Mini Cooper S. It has a permanently affixed folding top and wind up windows making this car much more desirable than previous models. It is a thoroughly modern sports car. You will find 98 close up photos showing every part of this car. It is available for immediate purchase. The clear title is in hand. It is reasonably priced and a good investment.

The State of Michigan does not keep record of vehicle miles older than 10 years. Vehicles older than 10 years will show the miles as exempt on the title.
