Make some memories with your friends. family and framily with this awesome VW Vanagon!  The picnic table folds down for ice cream dates in the summer evening. the back seat folds down for snuggling at the campsite.   The only issue I've ever had with it that I can't forgive is when a locust flew into the dashboard one time while I was driving down the highway.   Wife and I lost our minds and had to pull over immediately. the dashboard is pretty dang close to the steering wheel. people.   We absolutely hate for it go. but life is busy and I don't have time to tinker with it's mechanical issues right now.   It's gonna bring someone a lot of happiness though. cause that's what Vanagons do.   Also. there are loads of #hashtags on #Instagram where you can file pictures of your #vanagon if you have one.   And that there is another reason you absolutely will want to bring it home with you.  Here are the deets:
1989 VW Vanagon with a 1990 EJ22 Subaru 2. 2L engine.  Interior is in really good shape and cleans nicely.  The vanagon has an automatic transmission and is great to drive with a working A/C. heater. power locks and windows.
The Vanagon does overheat and needs a little work by someone that has the time to put in to it.  All the information (symptoms. conversations with vanagon/subaru guys) leads us to believe that the engine needs head gaskets.  When the cooling system is bled. the van runs and stays at temp well.  After a few days of driving. enough air gets in the cooling system causing vapor lock and not allowing the coolant to circulate and cool.  This information. along with making sure simple things (water pump/thermostat/radiator fan) are functioning leads me to believe there is a head gasket issue.
Known issues:The vehicle is known to need the water pump gasket replaced due to it leaking from the last time it was driven and it got hot.  There also needs to be work done on the plumbing from the radiator to the engine.  All the parts are there - newer radiator. expansion tank. hoses. etc but needs to be checked for flow and leaks.  Rear bumper is broken and needs replaced. Temp sensor needs replaced (shorted out - $20 at local auto store). Automatic window on driver side works but passenger side does not.  Has a clear title but not currently tagged (Estimated at $124 based on Oklahoma).
It's a great van and fun to drive but beyond my skill set to work on.  The body is in pretty good shape with only superficial rust in a few places and peeling paint in a few spots also (see pics). The Vanagon isn't perfect by any means but can be bought at a great price giving someone plenty of room to work on it and stay well under the value of a converted van.
The van is able to be started and loaded for shipping but not driven any distance due to cooling system issue.  Van is sold as-is with no warranty.  Let me know if you have any questions and good luck bidding!
