1968 Pontiac GTO

This car is an Arizona original which stayed with its first owner from 1968 until 2012. It was then purchased by a buyer in Pennsylvania who owned it for only a year before selling it to my wife in 2013.

              It was originally painted solar red with a black vinyl top and black interior. however. in 2010. the original owner decided to do a frame on restoration. The car is now a brilliant Stratosphere Blue with a light blue interior. The car was taken down to bare metal and painted correctly. All the interior was replaced (not refurbished) to the new light blue color it currently boasts. He also added new Auto Meter gauges. high back seats. and deluxe seat belts. In 2014. we added a Retro-Fit Stereo to make it look like the original AM radio it came with. and it is equipped with Blaupunkt speakers. Again. in 2014. we replaced the steering column and steering wheel to make the car look more original. Also added were dual side rally mirrors. You can tell by the pics that there was no expense spared here.

During the body restoration. the original engine was replaced by a 1970 Turbo 400 HO engine producing 360HP. This engine was rebuilt with a Perfect Circle cam and lifters and the heads were rebuilt by Schultz Cylinder Heads. The water pump and alternator were replaced. and all of the gaskets. hoses. and wires were replaced. The engine is topped off with a Holley 650 carb. Edelbrock manifold. Headman Headers. HEI distributor. and Dynomax Exhaust. The power hits the pavement through a completely rebuilt TH400 transmission which is sent to the Motive 3:73 gears in the rear end. You can decide how hard you want to hit the road using the Hurst Dual Gate “HIS/HERS” Shifter. Also. the front and rear suspension were replaced including new shocks. brakes. wheel bearings. heavy duty rear sway bar. front disc brakes. Wildwood brake booster. and new steering box. In 2015. we replaced the aftermarket wheels and tires with a refurbished set of 15 inch Pontiac Rally Wheels and Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T tires. P215-70R15 on the front and P255-60R15 on the rear. Also in 2015. we added the rear spoiler which was professionally painted and installed on the car. Although this was not originally on the car. this is the specific spoiler from the 1968 GTO.

This car has a pristine undercarriage. trunk. and engine compartment. It currently shows 34. 44 miles on it and due to the condition. it is probably correct. Nothing has been replaced on this car. it is all original. The doors close better than they do on most new cars. This is truly a diamond in the rough that you must see to appreciate.

This car has also been PHS documented and a copy of the original window sticker comes with it.
