 Hello and welcome to my listing for my beach buggy that I have spent the last 4 or 5 years completing.
I bought it as a running albeit beaten up project. I have pictures from the day i got it to the present day.
 it has a folder full of reciepts and pictures to show what has been done.
so the shell was taken off and the car was completely stripped down. the body was cut up to replicate the manx shell and even down to the colour and white stripe! that is painted on. not a sticker. the chassis was completely straight but it was stripped back as over years of grime and wax oil etc. i needed to be sure there was no gremlins in there and all was ok. I painted the chassis is 2k paint. gloss black to have a hard a durable finish then shutz was used to protect that! so this buggy was not going to rot! it is a LWB chassis so there is no issue of any rot on welds or dodgy cut and shut here!
 the engine was overhauled and checked and setup for running. it is a nice tight engine and when I got it running. it was running fine but of recent. it starts up but its like when it comes off choke. it stalls so its down to the setup of the carb. The carb i would suspect is needing stripped down. cleaned and setup. it was put on new by the previous owner and I left it as is so as its new. i imagine it was never tuned to the engine and i changed the exhaust to the twin cannon type so it will definitly need tuned now. if i remember right it is a solex pict 34 carb on there.
The engine is LEAK free! who would have thought a vw engine with no leaks. alot of the vw community live with leaking push rod tubes etc. not me at all. nothing leaks oil. there are stains on the case from me filling it up and spraying oil onto the engine to protect the chrome from pitting over the winter years! it all cleans off but I have used it as a protection agent.

The seats are cobra but they are all covered in white leatherette. so is the rear seat! 4 seater!!! and there is  awooden shelf to strap items too!
 the rear brakes have been fully replaced and setup for new. so no issues here. The front has been replaced for new front disc setup from a 1302s so better stopping power. new calipers were used aswell as discs/bearings.
 the car is fully rewired!!! no electrical faults!
 all new pipes have been used for the brakes and flexi pipes too. the fuel lines were replaced aswell so all nice and new.
 the front windscreen is custom made as i was not paying £400 for a unit i could make myself and is properly laminated and bolted onto the frame.
the rear tyres are new cooper units and they sit on 10" rear steel wellers and the front tyres. although went through an mot. are legal but they are old. and to look better could be doing with needing replaced. they do the job but in my opinion could be better.
 I fitted a shortened gear shift and is absolutley brilliant! no more looking for gears in a bowl of soup! its bang! there. bang next and so on. very acurite unlike my spelling but its a double claw type gear lever. this was not cheap and isn't an Empi crappy job. this is the rear deal and only made in 1974. very rare item.

The beach buggy has a roll bar but they only thing i would rely on that for is to hold my flags from.

this car needs to be seen to be believed. I love it but I have a type 2 van that i need to get stuck into and the funds from this car will go to the van to complete it.
 I have never had this car out and about. and it certainly has not done any shows so it would be yours to add your subtle mods and show it off! I drove it to the beach and had my fun before parking up. Ideal car for someone over the winter to get into the garage and put thier mark on it! a couple of nudge bars and new period plates and your jamming.

the car has to be seen. is advertised on VZI and other local car forums. not open to swaps or px ;) but i really need the cash as stated above

I can arrange for the car to be delivered by a friend who owns a recovery business so if your in southampton. dont be put off by this being in fife.
