This is my much loved VW t25 transporter I have spent a lot of time and money on (more than £3k in the last 12 months) but it is time to let somebody enjoy it as I have world travel plans and don't want it to sit at home and deteriorate.

The previous owner spent considerable time and effort in restoring the exterior and I have concentrated on the engine and mechanical aspects. Someone now needs to take it to the next stage of interior fit although the interior is smart enough to use as it is. or is ready for you to add your personal touch as needed.

This is a one off van that I believe was once a feature in a well know VW mag and is not far from being the same again. It's in fantastic condition as it's over 30yrs old and was one of the last air-cooled VW vans.

The engine is still an air-cooled one but has been up-rated to a 2. 4cc with a top end change. (barrels. pistons. heads). It also has a sports cam and twin 44 HDMI EMPI carburettors and the van will easily keep up with modern day traffic. It has also hydraulic suspension fitted for manual levelling that helps when it comes to speed bumps and when sleeping in the van.

Body

It had a full strip and rebuild around three years ago and I do have photos to show the work at various stages and the good standard of work has been complemented on how good a job it was especially as the van was once red. There are however little signs of wear but considering she is over 30 yrs old these are very minor and wouldn't take a lot to sort if considered necessary. This was once a panel van which are starting to come hard to find as most were workhorses and run into the ground. Because of this the pervious owner and myself decided to keep the panel van look. but two sunroofs were installed to add light in the back.

Interior.

Since having the van I decided to convert into a day van for now. It has been insulated and ply lined with all new panels with new covering and chequered plate detail on some. A new carpet and a ¾ rock and roll style bed with mattress complete the interior. It has Saab seats in the front and these seats can also be heated if wired up although I've never checked this function out. I also have swivel bases which I will sell separately or throw in with the van for the right price. All that is required is a headlining this is easily done with ply. The interior is smart enough to use as it is. or is ready for you to add your personal touch as needed

Engine and running gear.

In the last 12 months the engine has been professionally rebuilt @ 42858 miles (not a cheap recon). This consisted of:

Cam shaft/gear

All seals and gaskets

Oil pump

Dizzy drive

Leads

Valves seating

Ported and polished heads

Powder coated tin ware

Carburettors stripped cleaned. rebuilt and tuned.

All running gear has been taken off and cleaned with all parts needing replacing being replaced. I also took the opportunity to waxoil and under seal the whole van to protect it from all weathers as it was intended to be used all year round.

There is too much work to fully itemise but here is a brief list (with receipts to prove):

New steering rack

New slave cylinder

New clutch master cylinder

New front brake lines

New bearings all round

Mercedes alloys wheels + tyres

Wheel Spaces. studs and nuts including locking wheel nuts.

New number plates

New exhaust

I have receipts for all work carried out in last 12mouths amounting to just over £3000

Most of this work apart from engine rebuild has been carried out by me to keep costs down. I have been working on vehicles for over 18 yrs now and am also an engineer by trade.

Extras

CD player

Alarm

Immobiliser (needs to be wired up if desired)

Air horn

Remote central locking.

Speakers and tweeters

Summary

In summary this is an amazing van that is mechanically and structurally sound with a lot of time and effort being put into what you see now with no expense spared. All the van needs is some TLC to finish to a show standard and then either leave as is or put your own stamp on it. As I mentioned earlier. the only reason I have decided to sell is because of travel plans and I would hate to see it deteriorate over not being used and cared for. Believe me this is not an easy decision!! I am open to serious offers around what I am asking: no time wasters please. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
