Mercury: Cougar Eliminator | eBay

If you wanted a Cougar Eliminator convertible back in 1970 this is what you would've bought. This is a very rare original special order competition Orange convertible. Although many Cougars are changed from their original colors to look like this only 35  were actually built this way. This is one of those cars. see the marti report. Its a 351 W car. the original engine is long gone and now it sports a rollerized 351 W out of an 1983 T bird. the engine runs well other than needing a carb kit from sitting for a 15 years or so. This car looks absolutely stunning but there are small dents. fading and lots of little imperfections on the body. I'd give the paint on the car a 6 out of 10. The body is solid however it needs the typical inner rocker panel rust repaired as the rockers are shot. the floors are getting soft so I'd do them at the same time. they're decent but not great. the good news is that parts are dirt cheap if you want to tackle it yourself. Too much for me though. Torque boxes are solid. The rear frame rails on the car are rock solid and in excellent shape needing no repairs. It retains its original rear quarters which is a big deal on these cars as the Coupe quarters are different and the aftermarket ones according to Don Rush from WCCC are horrible. Top is original and missing the back window (will put plastic on for shipping)  The car runs and drives but has been off the road for 15 year or so. the carb needs to be done. rear brakes are new but brakes. front end ect should be all checked. I cleaned out the gas tank and it has fresh gas. Windshield is cracked. Wheels and tires are new. You could just fix the rockers. go through it mechanically and drive it or give it a full restoration. its up to you. Want it? Call me at 780 686 3621 and lets make a deal. make me an offer.
