The 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible was one of two Eldos available from the manufacturer that year. There were only 1. 00 of the Biarritzes made in 1957.

The gently rounded jet-pod fins that characterized the 1953 and 1954 Eldorados had been replaced for 1955 by aggressive. shark like protrusions with underslung twin-pod brake/backup lights. The styling theme was subtly carried over for 1957. with the fins more pointed and graceful than before. and happily unencumbered by the pod-like taillight treatment.

Under the hood is a 365-cid V-8 good for 325 horsepower. four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. coil spring independent front suspension. live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs. and four-wheel power hydraulic drum brakes. This was the most potent V-8 yet offered in a Cadillac -- and a good thing. too. as the Biarritz weighed 4. 30 pounds.  

The interior on this car is extra clean and shows very well. The front/rear seats are trimmed in beautiful red vinyl true to the era.   It is equipped with factory air conditioning. which was rare enough on a 1957 Cadillac. but especially so on an open convertible. and most of all on the top-of-the-line Biarritz. The trunk opens remotely with the push of a button. and the same button pulls the trunk lid closed. Other important accessories include the “Autronic Eye” automatic headlight dimmer. a Wonderbar radio. and a hard “parade” cover for the folded convertible top. Chromed “sabre” wheels are shod with wide whitewall tires. the classic look for a Cadillac of this era. The clean red carpet floor finishes off the overall look of the interior. All of the interior chrome and stainless trim shows very well. The interior truly looks great and shows no signs of abuse. This car was restored nearly 25 years ago and is a daily driver not a show car. This car is absolutely beautiful but does have some paint flaws and minor imperfections. This car shows 0449 miles but they are in excess of their mechanical limit.

The exterior of this Caddy is a tribute to American style with strong body lines that capture your soul. This American classic is topped off with a set of factory chrome Cadillac wheels wrapped in a set of BFGoodrich Silvertown White Wall tires showing 90% tread life left.
