Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.05) based on 411 votes

This Porsche RSR IROC started life as a 1980 Porsche 911 shortly after this the owner of this car created what we see today by installing a full roll cage which was welded into the car and beginning the transition to what we currently have.

During this process. the air conditioning. interior. electric windows. and bumpers were all ditched to save weight. The car was then re-bodied with RSR bumpers. hood. rear deck lid and wing and these items were replaced with fibre panels to significantly reduce weight.

All of the glass. including the windscreen was replaced with Perspex. the doors were lightened and the interior was modified. carpets were removed. RS door cards were installed. the dashboard cover was removed. a period correct race steering wheel and a short shift was installed.

Naturally all of these measures created a significant weight saving's and effectively lowered the center of gravity.

The standard seats were replaced with a Recaro Race Seat and Simpson 4-point harness was attached. the gearbox is a 915 transmission and was recently completely rebuilt by German Car Specialists in 2017.

The 3. 6 litre Twin Plug Engine was recently completely rebuilt by German Car Specialists in 2017 from a 1991 964 3. 6 engine. using a lightweight flywheel from Patrick Motorsports and a Centre Force Racing Clutch. Dyno reading is just over 300 bhp the car has no miles since the rebuild.

For the suspension Front and Rear Sway Bars and Anti-Roll Bars were added and new Bilstein coil-overs fitted with everything fully adjustable. Fixse 3 piece 17-inch alloys were installed (8" front-10" rear) to accommodate the larger 'Turbo' discs all round with Turbo 930 Calipers. Good Year Eagle GS CS Racing Tires and a fire extinguisher was installed with an electrical cut off switch.

The paint work is similar to a Brumos Racing Race Car of this Era. I am not sure if this car is a former Brumos car I have tried to research it with no success but I do know this car was raced in California by a local race team called Pete and Pauls out of the South Beach Area.

This is a very capable track car with similar performance characteristics to the original IROC and RSR Race Cars. but thanks to the Coil Over adjustable suspension and the 3. 6 Litre Twin Plug it is considerably more civilized to drive on the road or track.

This Car is currently in Calgary. Alberta Canada but does have a US Delaware Title.
