1957 Chevrolet Corvette for sale
Current customer rating:
Original 1957 Corvette recently removed from 33 years in dry storage since 1980.
Very original including the complete drivetrain. 282 Ci. 220 Hp. 1 x 4 with the original 3/speed and rear axle.
Original Arctic Blue with beige interior and beige softop.
Now gray & primer (see pictures)
Late serial # with all the under dash and door reinforcement.
Original engine. ransmission. rear axle. interior. seats. carpet. W/S. glass. wheels. hubcaps. enerator. tarter. wiper motor. master cylinder. istributor. with the rare red top washer reservoir. gas cap. ater pump. arburetor with brass tag. ir cleaner. fuel pump. jack & tools. nd the original gauges. owners manual and title from 1964 to the third owner.
Still comes with the original beige soft top.
Solid frame with light surface rust with much original frame paint still on the frame.
There is NOT ANY ROT No need to worry about a bad frame. Solid as a rock.
Original parts to many to list. I would welcome any phone calls to answer any questions.
I would recommend that the bidder look at the car or have a qualified expert look at the car prior to bidding.
At some point around 1970 car was painted gray with black coves.
In 1980 the paint was attempted to be removed but never completed this is the reason for the showing of original primer. I have tried to show all this in pictures.
Third owner added a later model hard top. This 1960 top is included with the car purchase.
I have acquired an original deck lid with out hard top holes if the new owner wants to leave the hard top off the car.
All numbers and date codes are consistent with the original build date of the vehicle.
Engine Block Casting # 3731548. Casting Date G 117. Block Stamp Pad F 712 EF.
A radio was not ordered with this car. That is the reason you do not see any shielding in the engine compartment.
I have acquired shielding and aluminum valve covers for this car that will go with the car if the new owner wants to use them.
After market radio was added to car at some point in time.
I have removed it and replaced it with period correct block off plate. Antenna hole was made in the correct location driver-side rear fender.
Car had no exhaust when purchased so I added a new exhaust system.
Original engine in car had NOT been started during the 33 years of storage.
I carefully replace all fluids and prepared engine for restart.
Engine now starts and runs fine.
Master cylinder was removed and rebuilt.
I have not done anything in the way of working brakes at this time.
The emergency brake does work.
I did trailer the car to a NCRS Regional for flight judging and bowtie sign off.
Did receive a sign off for the Mech. hassis and Interior and received a second flight ribbon.
Car was thought by the judges to be very original. Most points lost were for condition mainly aging.
I will be available to speak and talk about this car with any prospective buyer and go over the judging sheets.
You can be sure there are not many more 1957 corvettes in this unrestored unmolested condition left to be found.
