1961 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II Saloon SWB Restored

Nothing says style. class. and luxury like a classic Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. This gorgeous 4-door saloon is rolling artwork. The Silver Cloud II was produced from 1959 through 1962. Though the body remained unchanged. the engine went from an inline 6 cylinder to a strong 6. 2L V8. This greatly improved torque and acceleration. and improved top speed to over 100 mph. Power windows were offered as an option in 1961. and this one has that option.

This is a short wheelbase. left hand drive example. At just over 2. 00 models produced in four years. finding one this nice and being LHD is rare. The interior is in amazing condition. The wood is stunningly beautiful with no visible cracks or imperfections. It floats down the road just as its name suggests. as if you were on a cloud. Only private ownership its entire life. never a Limo/Wedding car. We have copies of the original Rolls Royce production documentation sheets on hand. It was built to U. S. specifications. lwith left hand drive. engine #56B8. with electric windows. sundym glass throughout. and rear unit air conditioning installed by Inskip. It was finished in Porcelain White over Beige English leather. It was completed February 25. 1960. On February 27. 1960. it boarded the ship "Catalina Star" and began its journey from Liverpool. England to Los Angeles. California.

This Silver Cloud was bought on May 5th. 1961 and garaged in Balboa. California for most of its life. When the original owner passed on. the estate went to his daughter. Several years later. this car was sold to a car dealer in San Diego. CA. Sometime around 2001. a man from Charlotte. NC bought it with the intentions of restoring it. The car went to Automotive International (a Rolls Royce specialist) in Charlotte for a complete restoration. There are invoices from February 2002 through May 2006 totaling $53. 34 for a detailed restoration. In May 2007. the owner bought a home in Hawaii and decided to sell this Silver Cloud. At which time. a man from Wake Forest. NC bought it. Since then. it has been driven roughly 1200 miles per year.
