Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.25) based on 74 votes
1972 Corvette LT1 convertible in Steel Cities Gray is completely original except for 1 repaint in its factory color and headers installed by its original owner. along with a Holley carb jetted for the headers.  The car is 1 of 405 1972 LT1 convertibles. and includes all original documentation and service records dating back to when the car was new.  This car provides the most visceral experience I have ever had on 4 wheels.
Originally ordered and purchased new by a USAF fighter pilot while stationed at the Academy in Colorado as essentially a street version of the ZR1.  The car came with the LT1 motor. 3. 70:1 rear axle. leather seats. shoulder belts. AM/FM radio and no other power robbing accessories.
The original owner drove the car until 1988 and put 55k miles on the car.  Since 1988. the car has had 3 other owners who collectively added 12k miles.
Everything on the car works great. except the oil pressure gauge and an intermittant clock.  Seat belt buzzer and warning lights remain operational as they did when new.  The car starts and idles well and blows no smoke when starting or accelerating hard.  The car shifts. drives. brakes and steers very well.  The original leather seats are in very good condition as is the rest of the original interior.  The convertible top has a crack about 4 inches long in the rear window. but I have not replaced the top since it too may be original.  A new Al Knoch convertible top accompanies the car.
Engine. transmission. rear axle. starter. alternator. and intake are all numbers matching and correctly date coded items.  The powertrain has never been out of the car.
No rust is present anywhere on the car.  The paint looks very good. has a high gloss and generally free of cracking. but does have a few imperfections typical of fiberglass Corvettes.
