1930 LaSalle340 Five-Passenger Fleetshire Phaetonby Fleetwood

For sale is a 1930 LaSalle 340 Five-Passenger Fleetshire Phaeton by Fleetwood.   I purchased the car in 2015 at the RM Sotheby's auction in Hershey.   I had studied the car pre-auction and determined that they were incorrect in their listing.   It is the original body to the chassis. but Sotheby RM stated that it was not original.

In the pictures below. please notice the plaques we uncovered under the carpet on the floor boards.  'Henry M Marx' who lived in the Savoy Plaza Hotel in NYC was the original owner. and the other plaque lists the original engine number as 606158 which you will notice on the GM Heritage original build sheet. We also contacted Henry Marx's son who confirmed his fathers original ownership in the 1930. The son had many fond memories of the LaSalle and his father. regaling stories of racing down 5th Ave with the top down.

As you can see by the build sheet and detailed pictures shown. it is model 4060. body number 66 (those numbers are located on the original wood floors of the passenger side) and axle number 6-6522.   The paint. interior. and wheels are in near mint condition.  The only area that could be replaced are the rubber running boards; the originals have been left in place. but the next owner may want to replace before taking the car to show.  I recently spent considerable time and money having car restorer David North (co-chairman of the St. Michaels Concours d 'Elegance ) from Easton. Maryland do a complete bumper to bumper inspection. replacement of fluids. tune of carb. and plugs (see images below for total list of work performed).   The engine is a 1930 LaSalle; this type of engine originally came in the car. although it is not the serial number indicated on the build sheet.   The car starts right up and runs like a champ.

This is a CCCA certified classic and would be great for car shows. local parades. or weekend cruising.   The car is totally detailed and ready for its next owner!

The car is available to look at in person in Baltimore County. MD.   Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping.
