After leaving the Detroit factory. this well optioned Hudson was originally sold from Imperial Motors of Bozeman. Montana where it was sold to its first owner. Leo E. Robbins on September 11. 1952. Robbins was a meticulous owner. keeping everything the dealer delivered with the new car including owner service policy. owner's manual. radio manual. workshop book. accessory folder. clock tag. and Hudson key fob—all of which is retained with the car today. The Montana license plate that first graced the Hornet's rear end is also still with the car.

Robbins only kept the car briefly before selling it to fellow Bozeman resident Ray Myers on November 4. 1955. Myers took advantage of Montana's vast opens spaces and by 1960 had accumulated 48. 00 miles on the car according to a service sticker from that year still affixed to the car. By the late 1960s the car was laid up however. kept in dry storage until it was discovered by master Porsche restorer Victor Miles. When Miles acquired the car on December 20. 2008. it had been sitting for four decades. but had enjoyed the car friendly dryness of Montana's vast. mountainous expanse—only the headliner and carpets were in need of cleaning.

The car is an incredible original with several significant and interesting features and options.  The car is a factory Twin H car with dual carburetors.  The car has its original AM radio which still works.  It also has one of the most scarce options of all. the factory accessory tissue dispenser.  It is also equipped with its original factory heater.

The paint is all original and has some checking and cracking.  There are several small scratches on the passenger side.  The polished aluminum trim is in remarkable condition with no dents or damage.  The chrome bumpers are also excellent with only a couple of very small blemishes and parking lot dings.

The interior is virtually as it was when the car was delivered new in Montana.  The seat fabric is entirely original.  The drivers seat has two vertical tears about three inches each on the seat back.  Aside from this. they are excellent.  The rear seat is perfect and the original lace map compartment is also perfect with original materials.

The dash and instruments are all excellent original both in appearance and in functionality.  The speedometer and odometer work well.  All of the gauges and controls work as well.   The headliner and sun shades are excellent originals.

The trunk is clean with only minor staining.  The floor is solid with not a hint of rust or rust repair anywhere.  The original jack resides in place next to the spare tire.

Mechanically refurbishing the car for everyday use. Miles enjoyed the car in sunny Southern California before selling it to the current owner in 2011. Since acquisition. over $5. 00 has spent on further mechanical refurbishment with all receipts for work included with the car. Showing fewer than 58. 00 miles from new. this cosmetically original. recorded history from new. and with all of it original books and manuals Hornet is ready to move on to only the fifth owner of its lifetime.

The car starts with virtually one pump of the gas pedal and runs smoothly and evenly.  The car can be driven anywhere with 100% confidence and trust.

With restored examples now selling well over the $150. 00 mark. here is a chance to acquire what the restored cars can't have:  Originality.  Check on line for any one on the market.  The only ones available are either cars with lots of rust repair or totally incorrect cars.  Parts are impossibly to find.  This is a complete correct car that can be enjoyed for years as is.  Good examples almost never come to market.  Interesting trades considered. Please feel free to call or email with any questions that you might have.
