PROVENANCE

Purchased 2013 from original owner.   A *1999 model in the builder's catalog produced in 2001 as a 1967 Shelby Cobra 427. Replicas flooded the market from the 1970's onwards and Midstates. now Shell Valley has been one of the premier & respected builders providing well-built & accurate replicas since its origins in 1971.                     

Due to my scheduling restraints & unfamiliarity of the process. I am having the appraiser-ClassicGray© moderate the auction & competently answer all your questions.

~ CONDITION ~

EXTERIOR: Fiberglass body showing no damage w/ Show quality respray by previous owner prior to 2013 having only one noticeable paint chip on right door bottom area & some edge chipping on right. front body/spoiler area. White stripes are flawlessly applied. Period correct LucasTri-Bar headlights have a crack along the side/top of L. light. otherwise all lenses. glass are VG/Show. All Chrome is VG/Show exhibiting some film & will clean-up to a solid Show/Excellent condition. 460 decals are peeling. easily replaced. Side Pipes have noticeable paint flaking towards body at connecting point to headers. PS ENGINEERING Sunburst. wheels w/ 5 Lug w/ Spinners  have no damage & only show minor road use & slight corrosion typical to alloys & can be brought back w/ polishing.  GOOD*YEAR EAGLE GT II  F. P235/60R15 & R. P295/50R15. tires have 85%+ tread w/ no sidewall or inner-tread cracking. Driver's side Chrome Roll Bar.       

INTERIOR: Mota-Litawheel has some finish loss w/ a missing rivet & horn button is upside down. but only if you're going in a straight line. Chromed VDO gauges. dash (needs re-tucking along part of bottom). seats. carpets. door panels all in VG condition & approaching Show condition w/ a detailing. Driver's seat has outside piping wear & seats show normal wear. but no separation. SIMPSONL & R side. Shoulder/Harness system. Customadvancewiring w/ connections pre-wired in boot for sound system.  Custom built aluminum firewall & footboxes.  NOTE: Very windy on day of shoot w/ leaves etc. continually blowing into & on vehicle. Odometer was broken & repaired. actual mileage is apprx. 2000 more than present reading.

ENGINE/DRIVELINE: Ford 460 ci/430hp built by Hall's Auto Ltd.  Engine bay is clean needing only minor wiping down to be Show Detailed w/ no visible leaks or drips. All hoses. belts etc. in VG/Show condition. Holley  4bbl.  780 cfm.Aluminum Intake & Water Pump by Edelbrock  ACCEL 7100 Ignition. MARCHPulleys.EARL'SOil Cooler. Custom Aluminum 4 coreRadiator. TREMEC  T-5 5 spd. .  Lakewood. Bellhousing & Ford 9” 2. 77:1 rear.

UNDERCARRIAGE:  Midstates jig-built powder coated square steel frame w/ Rhino Lining undercoating plus sound & heat dampening insulation showing very minor road spray & minimal surface rust on bare metal components. All lines. bushings (side exhaust hanger bushings are aged). shocks etc. in VG condition. wilwoodPower Discs F&R. Power Rack & Pinion steering. Front- Powder coated Mustang Coils & “A” Frames. Rear- Powder coated 4 bar &ALDANCoil-Over Shocks. bothadjustable.  

MECHANICAL/ROAD TEST:  Very strong. low-mileage Big-Block w/430 hp that idles w/ a nice. raunchy lope & pulls like crazy as you would expect. Tight steering. excellent brakes & no over-heating or leaks while idling for 15 mins. for video & after a 20 minute test drive & sitting again for 10 mins.

RESTORATIVE WORK/MODIFICATIONS:Respray by previous owner who felt the original paint was not up to his standards who also had trunk pre-wired for entertainment system at time of build. Well maintained by present owner. always garaged & covered w/ only major service being new clutch & peripherals done 8/16. Odometer repaired & New Die-Hard Marine Battery in 2016.  

SUMMARY

A vehicle fulfilling all the attributes of a #3++ vehicle w/ potential of moving into a low #2 category w/ some minor paint touch-ups & a total professional detailing - undercarriage in particular. A solid & superbly built Replica keeping very close to original specs of the unrivaled American Muscle Car - the 427 Cobra w/ a true (not bored) Big Block & period correct accessories & components. The tall/high rear ratio of 2. 77:1 makes for less spectacular launches & overall better driveability. although not sedate by any means.

Has the look & feel of the real McCoy. very vintage & correct in all respects w/ absolutely no issues & the only thing it needs is a new driver. Reserve is set at its appraised value & will be adjusted if necessary to make a sale which will be less than a fully-equipped  pickup truck.  

Nothing quite compares to the visceral excitement of a Big Block Cobra going through the gears at speed!

Any form of payment must clear before release of item/vehicle. Original title will be released to buyer upon verification of funds. If a 3rd. party is picking up/delivering vehicle. the title will be sent to buyer upon confirmation of receipt of vehicle.   

*A deposited. in-state Cashier's Check normally takes 5-7 banking days before funds are available. Out-of-state/country & personal checks can take 10 -15 banking days to clear.
