You are viewing a 1 owner 1978 240 D that is probably one of the nicest one's on the road today. you wont find many 240 diesels with a 4 speed manual transmission and only 73 k miles since new. This car is very special because it 1978 you could order a sunroof or Ac . He ordered the car with Both . It has a Manual sliding roof that opens with ease. The car was always garage kept and dealer serviced. I have a folder full of service and also the Original window sticker. The color combination of white over tobacco makes it truly classy and unique in every way.  
The white paint is all original and Stunning. I just had the car completely detailed . Buffed. glazed and waxed. It shines like new and has no scratches . ents or stone chips. It has a original hand painted brown stripe to accent the interior. The car show's very well and has a glossy appearance . The chrome on the car is excellent as is all the rubber trim. The under carriage is spotless and show's no rusty component's.  
The interior is called Tobacco and it's stunning. The seats are firm and look like new. The carpet is like new with no fading. The headliner is pristine as is the Dashboard. no cracks whatsoever. The wood along the dash is also pristine. You will notice the dash cluster and see how bright orange the needles still are. Show's the car was garaged and its low mileage state.  
Inside the car the climate control switches from heat to Ice cold ac. It has the Original Becker Europa radio with a Manual antenna. Manual window's and manual sliding sunroof. Really a no frills car just a 4 speed transmission . climate control and a stereo. It's a true drivers car and she get's nearly 40 mpg.  
Mechanically she is one of the best out there. You will notice how beautiful the engine compartment looks. My Dad and I took our time to service this car and detail it to a very high standard. The valve cover was removed and polished . valves were adjusted. new gasket. Oil filler cap was polished and new filter and O ring installed. Fresh oil change using Shell Rotella 15/40 . The tires are New Michelin's and the brakes are also like new. I just re did the entire AC system. I rebuilt the Original compressor and converted the system to R 134 . It's Ice cold .  
Now for the best part. When you start the car she idles like a watch. very smooth and doesn't smoke . as for the driving of this car I will say it's the best 240 Diesel on the planet. I have had hundred of diesel cars. Never I have I drove a 240 D with this much power. I know you are thinking he is crazy it's a 240 d. But it has more power then most 300 Turbo diesels. This car just keeps going. Even with the Ac on the car has no power loss. I put over 1500 miles on this car since I bought it and it handles the road like a new car and with amazing power. I can't say anything else but I know she is one of a kind and now being highly detailed makes her Collector quality and show quality.
