Few cars remain so instantly recognizable as the Jaguar XK120; its graceful and all-enveloping shape influenced the changing design of post-war sports cars. Introduced as a roadster in 1948 at the Earls Court Motor Show. it revolutionized the world's sports car market by providing a genuine 120mph sports/touring car. The superb twin-cam six cylinder engine was to become a mainstay of all future Jaguar products. and provided five Le Mans 24-hour victories between 1951 and 1957. Competition successes and the 126. 45mph (133. 5 without windscreen) achieved by "Soapy" Sutton on the Belgian Autoroute all served to increase the demand for the car. which did not become available until the 1950s. Even then. the world export demand was so great that the first home market sales in any quantity did not materialize until 1951. The development and production of the seductive XK 120 ushered in a new beginning for Jaguar as its designs and automobiles revolutionized the sports/touring car industry in the decades that followed.

The Jaguar XK 120 on offer here was once from the collection of Pulitzer Prize recipient. Eddie Adams. As a devoted collector of fine automobiles. Mr. Adams has always admired the beauty and sleekness of the XK 120. When the opportunity to purchase one finally arose. he did. predisposed to submitting the car to a comprehensive restoration. The restoration was begun in early 1995 and lasted over two years. During this time a complete nut and bolt. frame off rebuild was performed. Every item needing replacement or refurbishment was attended to and professionally refitted. The car was repainted its original silver color scheme and refitted with a new duotone blue leather interior. both are still in excellent condition. The car is described as running well. having been driven sparingly and having spent the majority of its time garaged. This XK 120 is a fine example of an automobile treasured by its owners and admirers alike for it strong engineering and beautiful sleek design and should be considered by both the novice and established collector accordingly.

The Chassis No. 670450. According to the information tag. the Engine No. is W 1862-8. This engine number is stamped into the engine in both the correct places. This is the original engine with the correct numbers. The overall condition of this vehicle is excellent. It does need a few little things to make it a 100 point vehicle again. It is very nice. but we can't say it's perfect. If you have questions on any areas or items on this classic.
