1971 MG MGB for sale

This auction is for a nice 1971 MGB. This car runs like a top. starting and stopping as it should.

I purchased it in the early 2016 with the intention of repainting its sad blue paint to the black base coat clear coat you see in the pictures. Once I started digging into it I found that previous rust repair had been done by pop riveting galvanized sheet metal over rusted areas and filling with body filler. I spent a couple of months cutting and welding new sheet metal. including a new drivers side floor pan. new cross member and metal repairs to the sills. The passenger side cross member has been reinforced as well. It was really rough. and I did what I could to make it a more solid safe car.

This car is a blast to drive. The 4 speed shifts good and the clutch seems strong. The parking brake needs adjustment because it barely holds the car. The tires are near new but it needs a spare tire. The convertible top is pretty new with no flaws. It is so tight it takes two people to snap it into place. The car sat in the garage all winter and didn't leak a drop.

The interior is decent with a small tear on the drivers seat. The carpet appears original and could use updating. The speedometer doesn't work but I bought a new cable that needs to be installed. The radio doesn't work but everything else seems to work as it should.

I always encourage a local inspection prior to bidding but as with all the cars I have placed on eBay. if the successful bidder upon local inspection is unhappy for any reason I will refund all money including your deposit.
