1977 CHEVROLET CAMARO for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.1) based on 255 votes

I'm selling my original. left hand drive 1977 LT250 Camaro. Believed to be one of the only ones in Australia and from all indications original LT250's are also very hard to find in the US.

In very good original and unmolested condition. Original paint and interior as well as original drive train. Still has warranty and servicing stickers in the door jams. original jack instruction decals in the boot lid and until recently had the original spare tyre in the boot that was made in August 1976 !

Fitted with CD stereo but comes with original radio. Also fitted with two child car seat restraint mounts on the parcel shelf - this was a requirement of ACT reg.

Comes with an original owner's manual which I sourced from the US.

The car was apparently a one owner car purchased from the estate of the original owner and privately imported to Australia in 2013.

Currently on ACT Historic Reg (Club Reg) which is not transferable but was on full ACT Reg until March 2017.

I have receipts and pics for all work completed since I purchased the car - which includes new carpet. underlay and sound deadening. all new exhaust. new bushes. new shock's. wiring work. carby rebuild etc.   The car is in very good and reliable mechanical condition.

Runs on Unleaded fuel (original build) - so no messing around with fuel additives.

A totally reliable car that could be used as a daily driver if you wanted to or a weekend cruiser as you have the classic look of a Gen 2 Camaro with the economy of 6 cylinder. I would be confident to hop in the car and drive it interstate and back again no problem.

Whilst this car was built and released as a 6 cylinder it has all of the same running gear as the V8 (eg turbo 350 transmission etc) so it would be a simple and easy conversion to V8 if that's what the new owner wanted.

The car is not a show car and has area's of patina expected of a 40 year old car . for example the anodising on the rear bumper has crazed but with a bit of effort could be stripped and polished to a great finish. The original paint is in great condition for its age and the car is RUST FREE except for a spot in the right front panel behind the wheel arch and behind the trim which is no bigger than a one cent piece and is not visible from the outside.

This car turns heads and gets comments every time we take it out for a drive and people can not believe its not a V8. Actually most people do not even realise that the Gen 2 Camaro was built in a 6 cylinder.

You could pretty well guarantee to take this car anywhere and park it next to another 50 Gen 2 Camaro's and it will be the only LT250 there . the car is that rare in this configuration and original condition.

Comes with all relevant Import Papers and Approvals and has an Australian Compliance Plate fitted. Also comes with original build papers which I located when replacing the carpet.

Currently insured for $20. 00 with my insurer already agreeing to increase the value to $25. 00 upon renewal.

This is a rare Gen 2 Camaro in this configuration and an appreciating classic car in hard to find original and unmolested condition.

A member of the "Camaro Family" Facebook Page located in the US recently commented when he saw that the car was for sale "Wow she is beautiful. Any Aussie that's into American Iron should jump on that !"

Happy to text or email pics upon request.

The asking price is negotiable. However. if a reasonable offer does not eventuate I will just keep the car. So I am NOT desperate to sell.

I WOULD BE HAPPY TO NEGOTIATE A SWAP (plus cash my way depending on the van) for a Jayco Eagle / Swan built 1995 or younger.

I'm more than happy to assist with freight at buyers expense.

Cash on Pick up or happy to negotiate another payment method noting that the car will NOT leave my driveway until all funds are confirmed as cleared. NO PAYPAL due to the fee's.
