I am listing this car for my friend/owner. Jim Facinelli.   We will consider a trade of a 1987 - 89 Porsche Coupe.  He is not e-bay savy so I am giving him a helping hand.   He lives in Elizabethville. PA and can be reached at 717. 579-2745.   Please feel free to speak to Jim directly or make arrangements to view this incredible car. He is the current chairman of the Rolls Royce Modern society and VP of the Rolls Royce Foundation and is one of the RROC's technical consultants on Silver Shadows. Silver Clouds and Derby Bentleys. He knows whats what about these cars.

This award wining car was delivered in Jan. 1977 to Riviera Rolls Royce Van Nuys CA. This Shadow I was built so late in the year it has a Shadow II body. The only option was a leather cover dash and he had a removable color matching cover made for it so there no reflection in the window while driving. In the past 3 years it have won a 1st Jr and 1st Senior award at the Hershey car show. Also it took 1st Place in Concours at the RROC Toronto Meet. After a grueling 750 mi trip in rain Jim won a 3rd place in touring in Louisville KY. loosing by very few points to cleaner cars. But Jim won the Cal West Award for a combination of being a high scoring Silver Shadow and driven the most miles in a year against comparable cars. It was the 1st time the award was given and Jim was honored to receive that award. The Following year he won a Concours Touring award in Louisville. TN.

His reason for selling:  “I still have too many cars and I am now retired therefore I cannot keep 9 cars! You will be hard pressed to find another Shadow in such good condition and with such a great show winning history. ”

The retail price was $39. 00. 00 over $160. 00 + today!

Bruce Kittrell was the original and sold the car in 1982 to Robert McBride who then sold the car to George Appel in 1984 who had the car stripped and repainted by London Bridge in CA to its current Rolls color Regal Red metallic. George brought the Rolls to his home in NE Pennsylvania and then passed away. Jim bought the car from Raco the dealer selling the car for the estate in 1995. He has every receipt on this car since delivery. It has been maintained to death as Jim is a perfectionist. There are over 2” of receipts from this beautiful car.

There is recorded over $65. 00 in receipts plus a few thousand hours of Jim's labor plus 20. 00. 00 that was paid for the car.  There are currently over 136. 00 miles on this car but only a few thousand since restoration so this car is basically a new car.

The car was striped to bare metal and reshot in RR Regal Red base coat clear coat. I removed the paint using soda blasting and there was not one spec of rust anywhere on this car. Being a southern CA car it is 100% dry and mold free.

The leather is all 100% original and was re-dyed 2 years ago. The carpets are 100% original and in perfect condition even in the trunk.

The headliner is the original. all the wool around the windshield and rear parcel deck was redone.

During restoration Jim repainted the entire car removed all trims and installed a new factory correct tinted windshield and new gasket.

Jim has rebuilt the engine. transmission and rear end.

The original problematic Detroit ½ shafts were replaced with new “Lobro” type ½ shafts made for later Silver Spirits.

All hoses have been replaced along with wheel bearings. brake pads and rotors.

The rear rams were rebuilt and the entire car was gone over by Jim in the past month. Jim just replaced the 2 wiper control units in the dash as well. Plus Palma's Automotive in NJ just rebuilt the accumulators. brake switches and flushed the system.

The plugs are new NGK's done this spring.

He redid the distributor and installed a new advance last yr.

Just recharged the ice cold A/C.

The front and rear bumpers were removed re-chromed and the rubbers redone. Several body trims were also re-chromed.

The clock was replaced with a NOS correct one.

The speedometer was sent off for rebuilding 2 yrs ago.

The four window motors were gone over and all work perfect and fast.

All 4 sill plates were removed and polished. as were all 4 wheel covers and headlight trims.  The wheel trims were also redone and pin striped.

The grill was removed and polished.

New front and rear matching wool overlays were installed.

The engine compartment was painted and detailed and plated as needed.

The entire suspension has been gone over and anything worn was replaced.

All 5 wheels were sent off and re trued. then painted and 5 new tires installed all this year.

Jim has stripped a lot of the main frame parts and cleaned and painted a lot of the undercarriage as the pictures show.

The radio and all speakers were replaced by Jim but he has the original radio in a box and its works fine along with the original walnut trim surround. He also has the original factory 8 track which I replaced with a burl walnut cubby box and this too can be restored in about an hour to factory if desired.

The steering wheel is a NOS period Nardi steering wheel which cost over $1. 00.

This car runs and dives better then new. I cannot stress to you how anal Jim is about how perfect a Rolls Royce should drive and feel. On trips it get about 15 MPG tops.
