Selling 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator tribute car or clone. This car started life as a standard Mercury Cougar and was resto-moded into a nice replica of an Eliminator. This is NOT a true Eliminator. If it was the price would be a whole lot more. Here's a quick over view of the car. This car has had some restoration work done by the previous owner roughly 10 years ago. This work includes: paint and body. some interior. healthy rebuilt 351c. some suspension and brake work. aftermarket gauges. I will try to elaborate on these in a bit. Some minor work has been done by me since I have owned it such as new wheels and tires. transmission and rear end leaks repaired. fuel tank sending unit replaced. new alternator. Holley carb. installed in place of the Edelbrock that was on it. That being said I want to make it perfectly clear that while this car is very nice. it is not perfect. If you are looking for a spotless car that needs absolutely nothing then this is NOT the car for you. This car has a lot going for it but it does have some flaws as well. It can be driven regularly in it's current condition with no problems.

Here's the good: Built 351C with fresh Holley carb. Hooker super comp headers. 2. 5" dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. 3:50 posi rear end. Transmission recently serviced and tuned up with leaks repaired. Newer front upper and lower control arms. ball joints. and tie rods. and shocks. Newer headliner and carpet with over all good condition vinyl. no rips just shows some age. New BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires on black vintage U. S. Mags. Solid floor pans and underside is for the most part rust free. Headlights doors work correctly. sequential tail lights work fine. All the glass is in good shape.

Here's the Flaws: Body is overall very nice but there are some visible dings and chips. Also some bubbling of the paint in front of the rear tires mostly on drivers side. very little on passenger side. front fenders are fine. no bubbling. Bumpers do show some pitting but not to bad. power steering valve needs to be rebuilt or replaced. it has slop in the ball socket that connects to the steering linkage but still very drivable. Steering arm on the steering box needs to be adjusted because it turns sharper one way than the other. Factory gauges need to be replaced because they read incorrectly. The previous owner installed XR7 gauges with Tach and car was meant for standard gauges. I have a set of standard gauges. they just need to be put in.

I do have several spare parts that would go with the car such as: correct high back bucket seats in fair shape but should be recovered. complete front grill. tail lights. another dash in fair shape. replacement factory gauges. some minor emblems and trim pieces. There might be more that I am forgetting.

I can provide more pictures upon request and please feel free to ask questions if you have any.

Hi, love the color of your car. Would you mind telling me what code this is...or what year from what make and model?

Thanks
