When it comes to rare. no other cars come near the rarity of this Alvis Healey. The reason this car is considered so rare is that there were a limited number of the cars actually built and the cars never made it into production. Being one out of only 25 Alvis Healeys ever built. it is said to be included in the small number of only seven or so that are actually running  and on the road. There were just over 500 Nash Healeys built. adding even more to the collectability of this fine piece of history.

Needless to say. you won't find yourself running across another one of these automobiles anytime soon. Mounted on the well known Healey chassis. the shell for this all enveloping aluminum body is produced by Panelcraft and trimmed at the Healey works. Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is very proud to present this 1953 Alvis Healey.

The current owner purchased the car from one of the known owners of the car. Mr. Lang of Chronoswiss Watch Company. Mr. Lang purchased the car in 2006. Many of the photos on the internet show this car with it's Chronoswiss logos. A man named Roger Crouch is the secretary of the Association of Healey owners; which is a club that looks after Healey cars built by Donald Healey Motor Company in Warwick. There is a letter personally signed by Roger Crouch that invites the upcoming new owner of this Healey to be part of the Association.

The chassis code is G524 (the 24th built) and the engine. stamped HTB 26184. is a 3. 0L 6-cylinder providing about 106hp. allowing plenty of power for this car. The Healey is a car that seems to thrive on high speed cruising and is quiet happy at around 80 mph.

The Lucas long-range headlamps give a concentrated beam entirely appropriate to a car of this type and speed of seventy-plus can be achieved with confidence after dark.

The bucket seats. wood grain dash. gauges and right hand drive steering wheel location allows for a taste of the European lifestyle back in the 50's.

The steering is heavy and a strong self-centering action adds to the feeling that here is a car to be treated firmly but sensitively.

A large dial speedometer and a corresponding rev counter in the centre of the panel. with separate dials for the thermometer. oil gauge. ammeter and fuel gauge; the tachometer is not working. All nicely displayed on a polished wood dashboard which also incorporated a moderate-size lock-able cubby.

We were commissioned by the current owner to sell the car. It was in storage since he aquired it from Mr. Lang. and had not run in a while. We trailered it to our facility and before trying to start  the car. our shop took all of the neccessary steps as to not cause any damage. Once ready. the car started without a problem. We also did a compression test and the results were excellent.

The car is equipped with a manual transmission allowing for a fun. yet simple driving experience.

Stunning original paint. plenty of chrome and beautiful wheels really help grab your attention from the exterior.

The result is a car of quite unusual and exhilarating character. The roomy body. the sweetness and flexibility of the engine fall into the even more refined category of rarity.

The 3 Litre Healey sports convertible. which appeared in October of 1952 has as part of its engine a 6-cylinder. 3L Alvis engine with two carburetors and takes the place of the larger Nash engine and is used complete with Alvis clutch and gearbox. The front suspension is of course the well known design that Donald Healey is famous for designing.

We have been told by Mr. Crouch. that the original Alvis Healy G524 had the above number stamped into the block. This is one more item to prove it's authenticity.

The very smooth outlines of the 3L convertible are generally similar to those of the earlier Nash-Healey but the grille is a ready means of identification.

Its trunk in the back of the car. with easy access allows you to have plenty of room for those times when the car is used for a road trip and a spare tire is included.

This is a car for serious enthusiast and is a welcoming addition to any Healey or any other high-end car collection. The car has never been restored. so if you were to seen any other of the 7 Healey's left there is a chance none will be in this condition.

We are very honored to be presenting this fine piece of  rare history to the world market.

The neatly fitting hood provides good protection and blends nicely with the general lines of the car.

There are a few little dents and some minor cracks in the paint around the car.

The undercarriage has its normal wear and tear from over the years.  The body can be seen to be  extremely straight.
